Starbeck Primary Academy has been recognised with two national pupil engagement badge awards by The Engagement Platform following our most recent pupil surveys, placing our school among the highest-scoring schools in England across TEP’s dataset of over 300,000 pupils.
Our pupils scored in the top 10% for Inclusion and Pupil Recommendation. We’re incredibly proud of our pupils and the community that they are part of here at Starbeck Primary Academy.

Bees’ Needs Week 14/07/2026

A second competition win for Starbeck Primary this school year. We were very pleased to be selected by DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) as one if their ‘Bees Needs Champions’ for 2026.

Each year DEFRA celebrate Bees’ Needs Champions. The awards recognise and celebrate examples of exceptional initiatives undertaken by local authorities, community groups, farmers, businesses and individual people to support pollinators. Whether that’s creating a wildflower patch, educating the local community about pollinators, or taking special measures on your farm.

Year 3 had an active morning taking part in a live stream dance class, taught by the Royal Ballet and Opera House dance teachers.
They had to perform a series of unison, individual and cannon dances that reflected the 'Dance for Rights' themes. These themes include the rights of the child to play, to have an identity, to be educated and to be able to share their thoughts freely. The children worked exceptionally well as teams and individually to create a dance with many elements.

Our children have been busy making Starbeck Primary’s contribution to the Starbeck in Bloom displays. This year we’ve used old plant pots and transformed them into famous children’s book characters. You can view them outside Starbeck Library and we hope you enjoy working out who the characters are!

Reception had a fantastic opportunity this week to make their own pizza. One of the chefs from our school catering company 'Aspens' came in to deliver this workshop, where the children got to see, smell and taste a variety of ingredients before creating their own choice of pizza. They rolled and stretched their dough before adding sauce and toppings. It was so nice watching the children get so involved and make something they were so excited about. They showed great enthusiasm and fantastic listening skills.

Year 3 had a great Egyptian Day on Tuesday. They mummified oranges, created Clay Cartouches, where they carved their name in hieroglyphics and created fact files about Egyptian food and drink. Maths involved solving problems using the Egyptian number system. The children were fantastic and made a real effort with their wonderful Egyptian costumes.
