Bed Race day- what a fantastic celebration! The Fisher's team put on a great show for this year's Great Knaresborough Bedrace.

A big thank you to all past, present and future students and members of the school community who came to cheer us on and make the event so enjoyable. Our team of runners, inspired by the crowd, had a fantastic race encouraging one another along the course, through the river and over the finishing line - well done! 👏

Equally, a massive thank you to everyone who has supported our efforts, in the planning and preparation, those who cheered us on and, of course, those who donated to our chosen charity. Thank you for your generous donations and the kindness you have shown. Our endeavours, however small, have aspired to acknowledge those who suffer with MND, their families who journey alongside them, and salute those who are working to find a cure for this disease. Thank you.

Donations are still very much appreciated. Let's work together to help end MND.

The St John Fisher bedrace team completed their final training session last night with a run around the course, culminating in a precision crossing of the river Nidd
All the hard training has definitely paid off !!

The elite team of designers made up of students and staff, have put the final touches to the bed decorations and everything is ready for the big day on Saturday. We hope you can join us in Knaresborough to cheer the team on and celebrate a fantastic event.

The team are really excited for the race, grateful for all the hard work and support that has gone into making the day happen.

As well as all the fun and enjoyment that comes with the day, spurring them on, and their main goal, is knowing we are raising money for a very worthy cause - one which is close to many of us in the St John Fisher Community, that is the MND Association. We hope you can spare something to donate to our fundraising.

Within school you can donate via parentpay. Alternatively, you can donate via our just giving page.

Sports Round-Up

Well done to the Year 8 boys cricket team progressed to the next round of the North Yorkshire Cup following an impressive all-round performance against Northallerton School.

It was a superb team display, with stand-out contributions from Alf with the bat, while Joe and Rory led the bowling attack effectively. In the field, Ethan produced a truly outstanding catch, highlighting the team’s sharp fielding efforts.

Thank you to Northallerton School for hosting and for the excellent spirit in which the match was played.

Also to the Year 7 boys cricket who put up a superb fight in a close match against North Allerton in the NY cup, narrowly losing by 3 runs, Jude captained well with an excellent batting performance from Dan P.

Well done to the Year 7 girls rounders who played their first competitive match, thanks to Harrogate ladies for hosting - looking forward to the tournament.

On Monday 8th June, students enjoyed an engaging and informative Subject Focus Day at Leeds Trinity University. The day began with a lecture exploring student finance and the UCAS application process, giving students valuable insight into higher education.

Students then selected from a range of practical workshops, with some taking part in a photography project while others developed and recorded their own podcasts. All students also had the opportunity to tour the university campus and student accommodation, gaining a real sense of university life and the opportunities available to them in the future.
