🏆 St. Aidan’s are U19 AREA NETBALL CHAMPIONS! 🏆

Congratulations to the St. Aidan’s U19 Netball Team, who went undefeated at last week’s Area Netball Tournament to be crowned champions!

They now turn their attention back to the Sisters n Sport competition, with their next opponents to be confirmed soon.

St. Aidan’s 1stXI Football

The teams’ first competitive fixture of the season saw a number of players make their debut for the First Team, and they rose to the occasion superbly.

Facing Ripon Grammar in the ESFA Cup, the boys produced a dominant display from start to finish, controlling possession, creating numerous chances and showing real quality in all areas of the pitch.

A convincing 7-0 victory was a deserved reward for their hard work and secures our place in the next round.

An excellent start to the campaign, with plenty of positives to build on moving forward.⚽️🙌

🎓 Supporting our Year 13 students with their Oxbridge ambitions

Year 13 students from across the Association recently took part in a valuable session led by Joe Organ and accompanied by Oxbridge staff and students, it focused on applying to and studying at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge.

The session provided practical guidance on the highly competitive admissions process, covering everything from choosing courses and completing applications to preparing for admissions tests and interviews.

A particular highlight was the opportunity for students to take part in interview practice, developing their confidence in responding to challenging questions and communicating their academic potential.

Students also had the chance to ask questions about university life, academic expectations and what it is really like to study at Oxford and Cambridge.

Sessions such as this give our students the knowledge, guidance and confidence to make informed decisions about their futures and approach the university application process with ambition.

A huge thank you to Joe for leading such an informative and engaging session and for supporting our students as they take their next steps towards higher education. 👏

St. Aidan’s and St John Fisher Associated Sixth Form is delighted to celebrate another exceptional year of results, with outcomes exceeding expectations and reflecting the dedication, resilience and hard work of our students and staff.

🌟 80%+ of students achieved at least one A*–C grade
🌟 95%+ achieved three or more A Level or equivalent qualifications
🌟 Students achieved an impressive number of A and A grades*, alongside the highest vocational grades of Distinction and Distinction*
🌟 Our positive value-added score shows that students have performed above national expectations based on prior attainment

These outstanding results have opened the door to a wide range of exciting futures, including prestigious universities, higher-level apprenticeships and employment opportunities.

This year’s success also highlights the strength of the unique partnership between St. Aidan’s CE High School and St John Fisher Catholic High School. Through the Associated Sixth Form, students benefit from an extensive curriculum, exceptional teaching expertise and a vibrant community bringing together young people from across Harrogate and the surrounding area.

We are particularly proud of the breadth of achievement across this year’s cohort. Alongside our highest-attaining students, many young people have exceeded their personal targets, overcome challenges and shown remarkable determination in achieving their ambitions. 👏

After enjoying a traditional fondue dinner last night, our Year 12 Physics students were up bright and early for another exciting day of exploring. Today’s highlights included a visit to a hydroelectric dam, a scenic boat cruise on the lake, and a walk to the iconic Jet d’Eau. This evening, they’re looking forward to dinner at an Italian restaurant before another early start tomorrow. Another fantastic day of learning and making memories!

A huge thank you to dedicated students and Lay Chaplain Mrs Shores for representing St. Aidan’s Church of England High School so brilliantly at the Church on Show stand during this year’s Great Yorkshire Show. 💙🙏

This year’s theme, “Journeying with Jesus,” gave visitors the opportunity to explore the life and teachings of Jesus, with our students proudly sharing a display based on the Parable of the Good Samaritan. They even had the honour of welcoming the Archbishop of York to the stand to showcase their work.

Throughout the week, our fantastic student volunteers gave their time with enthusiasm, warmth and confidence. A special thank you to Emma and Grace (Year 13), Emma and Sophia (Year 12), and Bethan and Lottie (Year 11) for being such wonderful ambassadors for our school.

Thank you all for living out our values of service, compassion and community—you have made us incredibly proud. ⭐️💙
