Harrogate Ladies' College

Yesterday, we held our Year 7 Fun Night, which featured an exciting scavenger hunt for new pupils joining us in September.

It was fantastic to see lots of laughs, energy and teamwork from our incoming Year 7s, prefects and staff. We hope you all had a great night, and congratulations to our winning team!

It was a fantastic day of investigating, collaborating and problem-solving today, for our annual CSI Day.

Our Upper 4 pupils became true crime detectives, learning about fibre analysis, blood spatter, fingerprinting and more to solve a fictitious murder. A huge thank you to our incredible science department for putting on another incredible event.

It was an absolute honour to welcome His Majesty, King Charles, to our school for a private visit last week.

Our Chapel Choir and Prep 6 put on incredible performances, which His Majesty described as ‘an absolute delight’.

The visit came at a pivotal time in the school’s history, with the extension of our co-educational provision and new identity as Duchy College, Harrogate.

His Majesty also presented the school with a native British oak tree, one of 80 being gifted ahead of His Majesty’s 80th birthday.

Saturday was a night to remember, as we held our annual Sixth Form Ball!

Held at the beautiful Crown Hotel, Harrogate, it was an amazing event celebrating our wonderful Sixth Form community.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the evening so memorable, especially our incredible pupils, staff and all those behind the scenes who worked so hard to make the night such a success.

We were honoured to hear from former Head Pupils, Sarah Thompson, Lucy Thompson and Heather Gagen at Speech Day.

Each spoke about their experiences at the school and looked ahead to the next chapter. A huge thank you to Sarah, Lucy and Heather for inspiring and uplifting our wonderful community.

Today we came together as a community for our final Speech Day as Harrogate Ladies' College, celebrating our past, present and future. Thank you to our three past Head Prefects, outgoing Prefect team and incoming Prefects for the next academic year for making this a very memorable occasion.
It was wonderful to see the energy and excitement in the room with performances from our Chapel Choir, musicians, dance company and a reprise of this year’s school production. Thank you to everyone who attended and congratulations to all the prize-winners.

Speech Day is almost upon us and we are very excited to welcome everyone tomorrow morning. A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to this incredible event.

From delicious sandwiches to fish filleting, it has been a big few days in the Food and Nutrition Department.

Our Upper 3s made some delicious sandwiches for British Sandwich Week, while our Lower 5s enjoyed a fish filleting workshop with one of the talented chefs from our award winning catering team.
