Duchy College, Harrogate Duchy College (formerly Harrogate Ladies' College and Highfield) is an independent school for boys and girls aged 2-18 in the heart of Harrogate.

Duchy College, Harrogate is a family of four schools: Duchy College Pre-School, Duchy College Prep, Duchy College Seniors and Duchy College Sixth Form, providing an exceptional education for children and young people aged 2–18 in the heart of Harrogate. United by a shared ethos, a single Board of Governors and one Principal, every stage of a child's educational journey is carefully connected. This collaborative approach ensures excellent academic achievement alongside exceptional pastoral care from Pre-School through to Sixth Form. From September 2026, Duchy College, Harrogate enters an exciting new chapter as we begin the phased extension of our co-educational provision into the senior years. Co-education will be introduced in Year 7 and Sixth Form from September 2026, expanding year by year to create a fully co-educational senior school by 2030.

This year, we are proud to be supporting Blood Cancer UK as our Charity of the Year, a cause that means so much to the Badger family, whose daughters, Alice and Isabel, are pupils at Duchy College.

Following the loss of their mum, Philippa, to acute myeloid leukaemia in 2022, the family have raised more than £500,000 for blood cancer research.

We cannot wait to see our incredible school community come together and support this cause.

It was a perfect autumnal morning for our Year 1s today, as they took part in an engaging Forest School session!

In our on-site Willow Garden, Mrs Lindsey worked closely with each pupil as they created their very own clay mouse, inspired by The Gruffalo.

It was amazing to see the collaboration on show, as pupils worked together to build houses for their mice!

Mrs Mayo, our Head of Design and Technology, worked closely with each pupil to safely sand and saw, as each pupil began their practical journey in Design and Technology.

Our Lower Sixth pupils loved their experience at Log Heights this week!

They built confidence, improved their communication skills and loved getting out of their comfort zone on the high ropes course.

From moving into the new Sixth Form Centre, to team building exercises and more, our Sixth Form have enjoyed a very busy start to the new academic year!
