🎉 A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Auction of Promises on Friday, it was a fantastic evening!
Thank you to everyone who placed bids and purchased one of our 48 incredible lots. And to all the families and businesses who generously donated them! A special mention must go to Ted, our auctioneer, who was outstanding. It was a lot of fun to watch a professional in action.
We would also like to say a massive thank you to Miss Wilson who organised the entire event and worked hard to bring everything together.
Initial figures show that we have raised an unbelievable £3,900 towards our minibus campaign!
There's no time to put our feet up...our sponsored walk is only 4 weeks away so the fundraising continues! 👣

🚐 Only 1 sleep to go until our Auction of Promises! With 48 fantastic lots up for grabs (and plenty of sealed bids already submitted!), we're getting very excited.
Every bid will help us raise funds for a new minibus, something we urgently need so our students can continue accessing sporting fixtures, educational trips, competitions, community events and more.
Hopefully you've been tuning into Your Harrogate Radio each morning at 10.30am to hear Mr Milburn chatting about the auction and choosing a song of the day. We wonder what his final song choice will be tomorrow...
Tickets for the auction are £5 each and are available on Arbor, at main reception, or on the door on the night. See you tomorrow at 6.30pm! ❤️

👩🎨 Our latest Artist of the Week is Georgia in Year 8 who has created an impressive foam print of a bird's-eye view.
Well done Georgia! 🎨

🛳️ A few more photos from the Year 8/9 History Battlefields trip.
This is always one of our most popular trips, giving students the opportunity to visit some of the most significant sites of the First World War.
During their time in the Somme region, they explored the underground tunnels at Vimy Ridge which were used to move soldiers without detection from German forces. They also visited family graves connected to Emily and Eliza.
The group visited the Thiepval Memorial (and cleaned out the gift shop of replica helmets!). At Beaumont-Hamel, they were able to see a preserved battlefield where both the front-line trenches and No Man's Land were visible.
The trip finished with an awards evening to celebrate some of the trip's standout moments and a visit to a chocolate factory. We also hear there was some karaoke on the journey home but unfortunately there is no photographic evidence! Rumour has it that Mrs Beeston and Mr Surtees were particularly impressive!
A big thank you to all the staff who made this trip possible. ❤️

🛳️ A group of our Year 8/9 students have spent the last few days on the History Battlefields trip. After crossing from Dover to Calais on Thursday, they arrived in Ypres for a game of bowling before heading to their hotel in Lille.
On Friday, they spent a memorable day exploring the Ypres Salient. They visited Poperinge, Vancouver Corner (site of the first gas attack of WW1), Tyne Cot Cemetery and Langemark Cemetery. They also had the opportunity to visit a relative's grave connected to Noah's family.
The group managed to squeeze in some shopping (and ice cream and waffles!) before ending the day at the Menin Gate Ceremony where Isobel, Elliot, Robert and Laura had the honour of laying a wreath on behalf of our school. 🌺

👩🍳 Harriet and Emily represented Rossett at the Rotary Club Young Chef Competition on Wednesday.
They demonstrated a range of cooking skills and each produced two impressive dishes for the judges. Although they didn't secure the top spot this time, they received fantastic feedback. Throughout the competition, they showed great organisation and determination, and were excellent ambassadors for our school.
A special thank you to Miss Parker for her support and mentoring, she was so pleased to see the girls cook up a storm on the day and represent Rossett so superbly! 🍛
