👩‍🎓 Whilst our students have been enjoying a day off today, our staff have been busy getting to grips with StepLab, a new platform being introduced across all Red Kite Learning Trust primary and secondary schools.

The day has been all about developing our teaching with staff exploring new techniques and approaches.

We're looking forward to seeing everyone back in school on Monday and putting some of these techniques into practice! 📖

⛺ Earlier this week, some of our Year 10 students had the opportunity to attend Temple Moor High School in Leeds to work with the Outward Bound Trust alongside primary and secondary students from all the Red Kite Learning Trust schools.

They took part in team building exercises, working in groups to put up a tent, light a fire and boil water to make hot chocolate.

Thank you to The Outward Bound Trust and Red Kite Learning Trust for the experience! 🌳

🌎 It was European Day of Languages at the weekend and we're celebrating this in school all week. This year's theme is 'Languages unite!', a reminder that languages can bring people and communities together.

As well as running a languages challenge and poster competition, the Rossett Kitchen has joined in too, serving up dishes from around Europe including bratwurst, haggis, goulash and paella! 🍲

❤️ A huge thank you to our Student Leadership Team and all of our student volunteers who gave up their Saturday morning to help at our Open Event (and apologies to anyone who missed out on being in the photo, there were quite a few of you!).

We welcomed over 1,000 visitors, making it our biggest Open Event yet. It was fantastic to see so many of our students getting involved. They showed families round, helped out in subject departments, played music and represented Rossett with pride. We received some lovely feedback about them.

Thank you to all the families who came along on Saturday to be part of Rossett. We hope you enjoyed spending time in our school.

If you would like to see Rossett in action, we're holding two further open mornings on 8th and 20th October. Please visit our website to book a place. 🎉

The only thing missing was a birthday candle for Mr Royles! 🎂

⏳ Just 5 days to go until our Open Event on Saturday and our giant Rossett jigsaw is almost ready...visitors will have chance to complete the puzzle as they make their way around school. A big thank you to the Rossett elves (aka Miss Owen and Mr Barlow!) who have been busy working their magic to create this for us.

As well as solving puzzles, families will be taken on a tour of the school, get to meet students and staff, take part in a treasure hunt and sample school lunches. Breakfast items will also be available to purchase from the Rossett Kitchen.

We can't wait to welcome prospective students and their families and show them what it means to be part of Rossett. 🧩

🎉 Congratulations to our new Year 11 Student Leadership Team!

Throughout the rigorous application process, students were assessed on their leadership potential, communication skills and commitment to the Rossett values. The successful candidates demonstrated maturity and professionalism and we're confident they will be excellent role models who will play an important role in their final year at Rossett.

Come and meet them at our Open Event on Saturday 26th September! Visit our website for more details. ✨
