Year Three have been searching for minibeasts this afternoon, ahead of writing fact files about them next week! Fortunately we didn’t find any enormous insects like in James and the Giant Peach!

Year 6 had a fabulous afternoon with the Science department at Harrogate High School, thank you for inspiring us with some amazing chemical reactions (and fireballs!)

4HP's art focus today was making marks that make us happy! The children explored shapes, colours and patterns that bring a sense of joy - so powerful to see how your own artwork can bring happiness to others!

As we begin our Art Week at Willow Tree, 5KW were saddened to learn that Bradford-born artist David Hockney passed away last week at the age of 88. We have reflected on the remarkable life he led and the way his art continues to inspire people around the world and here in North Yorkshire. We are looking forward to exploring his work further and creating our own pieces, inspired by the same breathtaking Yorkshire landscapes that inspired him throughout his career.

It's Art Week at Willow Tree next week! We're inviting all of our families into school on Friday afternoon to see your children's artwork in our classrooms.

We'll be opening the school gates a bit earlier at 2:45pm on Friday - come and celebrate their creativity and artistic flair!

So proud to be officially awarded our PLATINUM Healthy Schools Award at a special presentation at RHS Garden Harlow Carr today! Our children represented Willow Tree impeccably, and had great fun exploring the gardens, pond-dipping and even a short nap in the grass!
