There were secret rehearsals for this performance, heart-felt speeches and a wonderful film packed with messages from alumni, ex-colleagues, Chamber Choir, musicians, colleagues and Mr Pallant’s family. He means so much to so many - thanks for the last 19 years you have given to St. Aidan’s Mr Pallant! Happy retirement! ⭐️

The Brodsky Quartet will be in school on Tuesday 28th June, giving a masterclass for some of our young string and piano players, with other instrumentalists and music students forming the audience. In the evening the quartet will present a superb concert, with an exciting programme of Purcell, James MacMillan, Shostakovich and Ravel. We warmly invite the St Aidan's community to come along to this concert, sponsored by St Aidan's Music Association, at St Wilfrid's Church at 7.30.pm, and which will also be the opening concert of the Harrogate International Summer Music Festival. Tickets will be available for the evening concert from Harrogate International Festivals via their website.

St Aidan's Chamber Choir, one of the school’s best loved and prestigious musical ensembles, is 30 years old this year! To mark its anniversary we will be holding a spectacular evening concert at Ripon Cathedral on Saturday April 2nd. This great occasion will bring together all three of our current school choirs, the Symphony Orchestra and a ‘Choir of Choirs’ made up of former members. We are pleased to say that many former members of the choir have already agreed to be there, along with Cathy Roberts, former Director of Music at St Aidan’s, who founded the choir in 1992, and Greg Beardsell, a founder member of the choir and now a well-known professional conductor and TV presenter.
Additionally, we would like to invite the wider St Aidan’s community to participate as singers or players in the Community Chorus and Orchestra for some massed items, including Haydn’s “The Heavens are Telling”. As with its last appearance at St Aidan’s Golden Jubilee three years ago, this is open to all parents, carers, staff, students or anyone else with a St Aidan’s connection. There will be 3 evening rehearsals at St Aidan’s (15th, 21st and 29th March) and an afternoon rehearsal at the cathedral. If you would like to be part of this great occasion please email [email protected] with the subject CC30 and we will send further details.

Friends of St Aidan's are raising money for a new mini bus at school. On September 11th 2021 they will be hiking the Harrogate Ringway, a 20 mile circular route around the Harrogate area. The walk is challenging but with splendid views of the Yorkshire countryside along the way, it is a fantastic experience and brings a great sense of achievement on completion.
If you would like to donate please follow the link below.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us and our children who attend the school.
