Busy week last week, Thursday and Friday we had our delegates from Cohort 2 for the practical section of the course.
In total 12 implants were placed across the two days in multiple patients.
We used Oxy Psk Implants from OXY Dental Solutions with guides made by Smile Designs Dental Laboratory. Dr David was there to help our delegates through every step of the way. We can't wait to see the final results in 3 months once the implants have healed and are ready for the final fit.

We had a busy day on Friday with the last part of the theory for Cohort 2's Implant Inception course. We have had an additional element in today where delegates observed Dr David Veige place a singular implant before moving on to placing implants in pig cadavers that afternoon.
Our delegates were also taken through the examination process for 4 patients for who they will be placing multiple Smile Designs Dental Laboratory
All training for Aim Higher Dental courses are split between both theory and practical, the practical aspect of this course is placing implants on multiple patients and following the patient journey from start to finish.

And then in a blink of an eye, we started Cohort 2 with theory-based practice in Harrogate following this, delegates will move on to observations and placing implants in pig cadavers before finally placing implants into multiple patients and following the patient journey from start to finish!

It's been a busy few weeks. Cohort 1 ended and Cohort 2 started. We had Cohort 2 delegates observe Cohort 1 finishing the final placement of teeth made in before graduation! Well done to everyone who took part in the 1st implant inception course, you were all amazing! We wish you all the luck in your implant journey!!

Theory Vs Practical
On our course we do both, we start with the theory including training on pig cadavers and then follow the theory with 3 days of placing implants on multiple patients. All of this is overseen by our course leader who is there to assist, support and guide you through surgery.
