This week we have the Age Awareness Kit in school. The kit includes a range of activities which show us how everyday jobs can become more challenging as our bodies get older – including trying to shake hands with limited dexterity, experiencing reduced eyesight or hearing and coping with a tremor.
After the fun of the activities, we reflected on how we can be more empathetic and patient with older members of our family and wider society.

Year 5 began their transition to High School by attending a Taster Day at St John Fisher Catholic Academy today. The day began with a chance to ask lots of questions of former pupils in the beautiful surroundings of the school chapel. We then had lessons in Music, English, Science and PE.
We loved our day and we did get called cute!
Thank you to all the students and staff who looked after us.

Year 5/6 Rounders Competition - 17.6.26

A huge well done to the Year 5/6 Rounders team, who battled brilliantly against a number of local schools in a recent Rounders competition.

They showed great determination and resilience, despite the hot weather, and ended up finishing 2nd. Fantastic job, everybody!

Nell Bank - Part 1

Our KS1 pupils had a fantastic time on their school trip to Nell Bank! Throughout the day, they fully immersed themselves in the great outdoors, pretending to be badgers, moles and rabbits, exploring habitats in a fun and imaginative way.
The children enjoyed a wide range of hands-on activities including pond dipping, minibeast hunting and water play, making the most of the beautiful natural environment. It truly was an amazing day for everyone, filled with excitement, curiosity and discovery.
Importantly, the trip provided lots of valuable learning opportunities, helping to support our science curriculum, particularly our work on animals and habitats. It was wonderful to see the children so engaged and enthusiastic about their learning.
Nell Bank have also asked us to let you know that they are hosting summer open days. If you would like to find out more, please visit their website for further information.
Thank you to all who helped make the day such a success! Nell Bank Outdoor Education Centre, Ilkley

Kestrels class were delighted with their very own repeated patterns that they have designed themselves, taking inspiration from wild animals and the work of William Morris. We experimented with shape and colour to create our own tile which we then duplicated to create our larger repeated patterns. The children were thrilled with how effective they looked!
