Sending season's greatings, love and πŸ•‰οΈs on this winter solstice evening... and what a grey day it's been here in Nidderdale! Good to know we're at the turning point from which the light is returning, day by day, and thank goodness for vitamin D (and K)!
What a year it has been... Heart felt thanks for all the love and support from family, friends and my lovely students; it's wonderful to see you again back on our mats, teaching and sharing these beautiful yoga practices.
Classes will restart on Monday 5th January at Glasshouses Broadbelt Hall (9:30am and 6pm), and Thursday 8th Janaury at Darley Christ Church (7pm).

Havan time again, this time celebrating the Spring equinox. Thank you to those of you who could make it: great company and energy as we gathered round the fire to share this powerful and affirming practice, and lovely to chat and share food afterwards.
Spring in here πŸ˜ŠπŸ™

Thanks to the lovely students who joined me last night to share food, conversation, and then chant the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra together: a beautiful mantra, creating heart-centred energy, full of love, optimism and hope for release from suffering for all living beings. Spring is on the way!

Pm me if you're interested in all things yogic - I teach in Glasshouses and Darley (North Yorkshire), and offer occasional evening socials and practices exploring aspects of yoga that don't easily fit into regular classes πŸ™

Thanks to students and friends who braved the winds yesterday afternoon to come and share a yogic Havan practice (fire ceremony) and social gathering to celebrate the winter solstice. A Havan involves chanting and symbolically offering to the fire anything you want to let go of that no longer serves you (e.g. behaviours, habits, beliefs, relationships). You can also offer up seeds of ideas, hopes, dreams for the future that you would like to let go of and trust to the greater energy of the universe, symbolised by the light and rising flames of the fire.

We chanted the Gayatri mantra: a celebration and meditation on the illuminating power of light, as represented by the fire, and particularly appropriate for the winter solstice.

We also raised Β£36.50 for the Harrogate Homeless Project.

What I love about yoga is that you don't have to believe anything; you just have to practise, and see what happens πŸ™πŸ˜Š

Morning practice today - beautifully cold and fresh. Still enjoying the energy from chanting the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra 54 times in this space last night with eight of my lovely students. Thank you for your open minds, voices and enthusiasm for trying something different πŸ™

Yoga in the sun on holiday in Nice – great to be warm, and ditch the fleece and thermal leggings! This is Warrior III (Virabhadrasana III), one of my favourite poses (and my logoπŸ˜‰): love how the whole of the back of the body is lifting towards the sky, connecting with space and that sense of freedom and possibility, while the supporting leg roots firmly into the ground, connecting with the earth and all that nurtures and sustains us.
Back home now and planning my next block of weekly yoga classes starting Monday 9th September, 9:30am and 6pm, at the Broadbelt Hall, Glasshouses. Suitable for beginners and those wanting to develop their practice. This will be a 7-week block; fee Β£56 (7x Β£8/class). Message me for more info or if you’d like to book a place (space is limited: max class size 10) πŸ™
