Thursday's Forest School was a wet one, but that definitely didn't stop the fun or the learning.
We started with our free preschool session, where the children had a lovely time spotting different colours around the site and exploring all the different play areas.
As the day went on, the rain brought a whole new dimension to our Forest School experience. The children embraced the weather brilliantly - building dens for shelter, creating bridges across the mud pit, and working together to adapt their play to the conditions.
One of the biggest highlights was successfully lighting a fire, even in the wet weather - a fantastic achievement and a great opportunity to learn resilience, teamwork, and practical outdoor skills.
Rainy days at Forest School really do bring their own kind of magic.

We've known for a long, long time that Hookstone has Talent - but now it's time to show it - loud and proud!
Families of children in year 5/6, please see the letter that has been sent this week.

The sun came out this afternoon at Forest School, making it a perfect day for outdoor learning!
The children enjoyed using our new saws, kindly donated by one of our wonderful parents. They worked together to make kindling and cut a fallen oak branch into smaller pieces ready for future creations.
To top it all off, the children successfully built and lit their own fires, developing confidence, resilience, and practical woodland skills. What a fantastic afternoon of exploration and achievement!

Maple Class have worked together to make shared decisions and budgeted the very generous £200 they were gifted by the PTA to buy individual pencil cases and add key bits of stationery that they wanted to these. The children will use them in school this half term and then take them home at the end of the year. Thank you to our fabulous PTA for providing this opportunity.
There were actual gasps in Maple when the new pencil cases and the stationery for within them were given out. All the children were thrilled and it has been a huge success and our classroom looks really tidy now - result!

Year 1 and 2 had a brilliant time celebrating World Ocean Day. We watched an exciting webinar from the Manta Trust who care for Manta Rays in the ocean. We learnt about the different types of rays and our favourite part was definitely guessing the names of the Manta Rays! Great learning Year 1 and 2!

Pine class have had a great day celebrating World Ocean Day. We learnt about how we can help to look after the ocean and its sea life. We then created silhouette paintings which turned out amazing!
