Tomorrow is our final day together, and our hearts are full.

What an absolute privilege it has been to be part of each and every one of our wonderful children’s early years journey. From those first nervous goodbyes to watching them grow into confident, kind, funny and independent little people, it has been an honour to share so many special moments with them.

We’ve celebrated every achievement, wiped away tears, shared countless cuddles, listened to endless stories, and watched friendships blossom. Every smile, every laugh, every milestone has made us so incredibly proud.

Tomorrow we say goodbye with heavy hearts. Although it’s never easy to let them go, we know they are more than ready for their next adventure. We hope they carry with them happy memories, confidence, curiosity and a love of learning as they take their first steps into school.

To all of our amazing children – thank you for filling our days with so much joy. You have each left your own little footprint on our hearts, and we will miss you more than words can say.

To our wonderful families, thank you for trusting us with your precious children. It has been a privilege to watch them learn, grow and flourish, and we are so grateful to have been part of such an important chapter in their lives.

🐞🌿 Our New Topic: Minibeasts! 🌿🐞

The children have been busy exploring our exciting new Minibeasts topic! We have transformed our learning environment into a fascinating world full of insects, bugs, and creepy crawlies for the children to investigate and discover.

🐛 In our literacy area, the children have been enjoying The Very Hungry Caterpillar, learning about the butterfly life cycle, matching foods, and developing their vocabulary through stories and discussions.

🦋 Our investigation station is full of minibeast pictures, habitats, magnifying glasses, natural materials, and small-world insects, encouraging the children to observe, sort, count, and explore.

🔍 Throughout the topic, we will be learning about different minibeasts, where they live, their life cycles, and the important role they play in nature. The children will also take part in crafts, sensory play, bug hunts, and outdoor learning experiences.

🌼 We have loved seeing the children’s curiosity as they search for ladybirds, butterflies, snails, worms, beetles, and other tiny creatures. Their conversations, questions, and discoveries have been wonderful to hear!

Why not continue the learning at home by going on a minibeast hunt in your garden or local park and sharing what you find with us?

Our topic this half term is ‘Time’ and ‘Our wonderful world’ 🌍 . We spent last week exploring the past and this meant lots of fun with dinosaurs!🦕 We are beginning to understand what makes up our wonderful world, last week we investigated animals and hot countries. The children enjoyed the small world play using touch and exploring animal patterns 😊 more activities to follow.

Our rabbits have some friends today at Summerbridge Preschool. Lois and Mertyl meet Mushroom and Miffy. I think we are going to have lots of excited children (and staff) today!

⭐️ CHILD SAFETY WEEK ⭐️

Today marks the start of Child Safety Week 2025 - a chance to focus on the importance of keeping our little ones safe.

The theme this year is all about 'Safety is for Sharing' to help to combat all the misinformation that is out there. Safety week is run by The Child Accident Prevention Trust and they produce lots of free resources including a parent pack for families that covers a wide range of topics.

It’s that time of year again when mini eggs are lining the supermarket shelves. But, did you know that, just like grapes, they are the perfect size to block a small child’s airway and choke them? And, their hard shell can make it difficult to dislodge with standard first aid techniques.

With whole grapes we advise cutting them in half lengthways and ideally into quarters to create thin strips. But chopping up mini eggs isn’t as easy. So, what can you do?

1. Hide them from the children and eat them yourself – good luck with that!

2. Break them into small pieces with a rolling pin. Or, crush them in a pestle and mortar. Or melt them a little first.

3. Opt for a different treat. Larger, hollow eggs are much safer for little ones.
