One of my tutees is starting to write her personal statement, so last week we had a fun session where we went through exemplar personal statements and highlighted their different components. We thought about how they were structured, and how they could improve their concision.

(If you're interested, the 6 colours represent: A-Level course content, supercurricular, extracurricular, name dropping of texts and critics, literary analysis, and future plans!)

I am available for tutoring for Oxbridge applications looking to write their personal statements and ace the ELAT and interview. I can coach candidates in responding to unseen texts.

Please do message me for a no-obligation chat 😊🌈

A-LEVEL ENGLISH LITERATURE TUTOR - SPECIALISING IN OXBRIDGE ADMISSIONS

Hi, I'm Rebekah, and I've just graduated with a 2:1 in English from the University of Cambridge. I've been an A-Level English Literature tutor for the past 7 months and now have availability for more students.

My speciality is hour-long sessions going through an unseen poem or passage. Unseen material forms the basis for the entrance exams, interviews and course content at Oxford and Cambridge. Therefore, my tutoring will be very useful to students looking to apply to study English at Oxbridge. I will provide coaching in how to approach unseen material and talk about it in an exam or interview.

In addition, it may be possible for me to tutor specific A-Level texts - please send me a message to discuss this.

The sessions will be held over Skype, Google Hangouts or similar, meaning I am open to students across the UK.

I have A* in English Literature A-Level. I also have lots of experience as a tutor - please check out my reviews on my other page, 'Maths Tutor - Knaresborough' (linked in comments). Please do send me a message for a no-obligation chat.

Hi, I'm Rebekah, a current third-year student at the University of Cambridge, studying English.

I've been tutoring a Year 12 student in English Literature over Skype for the past few months and am ready to welcome more students.

My speciality is hour-long sessions going through an unseen poem or passage. Unseen material forms the basis for the entrance exams, interviews and course content at Oxford and Cambridge. Therefore, my tutoring will be very useful to students looking to apply to study English at Oxbridge. However, the interpretative and analytical skills we will develop and the critical practices will we learn will be helpful to all A-Level English students.
In addition, it may be possible for me to tutor specific A-Level texts - please send me a message to discuss this.

In the current climate, rest assured I am experienced tutoring over Skype.
