As a child, I spent most of my time outdoors.
Fields.
Country lanes.
Fresh air.
I thought moving to Yorkshire helped me discover peace.
The truth is, it helped me reconnect with something I'd forgotten.
Have you ever reconnected with something that used to make you feel alive?

My dad gave me permission to live my life.
The question is
Whose permission are you still waiting for?
And what would change if you stopped waiting?
Message me if this hit home.
For a long time, I thought I was just getting away from things.
Getting away from the noise.
Getting away from the stress.
Getting away from the version of myself I didn't want to be.
So I started walking.
I picked up a camera.
I spent time in nature.
I found places where I could simply breathe.
What I didn't realise at the time was that those walks were changing me.
Little by little.
Step by step.
I wasn't escaping.
I was healing.
Looking back now, I can see that nature helped me reconnect with myself long before I understood what that meant.
And if I'm honest, that journey is still going on today.
Maybe that's why I still feel drawn to the outdoors.
Maybe that's why I still crave those quiet moments.
Maybe that's why every walk teaches me something new.
Sometimes, the things that heal us don't arrive with a big announcement.
Sometimes, they begin with a simple walk.
Have you ever had a place that helped you find yourself again?
It's easy for people to see where someone is now and assume it's always been that way.
The truth is, it hasn't.
Like most people, I've had times when I felt lost.
Times when life didn't go the way I thought it would.
Times when I couldn't see the path ahead.
What kept me going wasn't confidence.
It wasn't certainty.
It was belief.
A belief that things could be different.
A belief that better days were still ahead.
Looking back, that belief carried me through more than I ever realised.
I'm still learning.
Still growing.
Still figuring things out.
But one thing I know for sure...
I'm glad I didn't give up on myself.
Have you ever gone through a period in life that changed the person you became?
This weekend, I spent the day with my son at Arsenal's victory parade.
The funny thing is, the biggest takeaway had nothing to do with football.
Standing there together reminded me why I started this journey in the first place.
I've spent more than 35 years working shifts.
Like a lot of dads, I've spent years focused on work, responsibilities, bills, and doing what needed to be done.
But moments like this remind me what it's all for.
Not possessions.
Not status.
Not impressing anyone.
Time.
Memories.
Being present with the people you love.
The last few weeks have been a reminder that life doesn't always go to plan.
But they've also reminded me that the things that matter most are often the simplest.
A day out.
A conversation.
A shared experience.
The older I get, the more I realise these moments are priceless.
What's a memory you've made recently that you'll never forget?
02/06/2026
For a little while, I went quiet.
Not because I'd given up.
Not because I'd stopped believing in what I'm building.
Life simply needed my attention.
Health challenges.
Financial pressure.
Work.
The sort of things many of us deal with from time to time.
Over the last few weeks I've spent a lot of time reflecting.
Then this weekend I spent time with my son at Arsenal's victory parade.
Standing there amongst thousands of people reminded me exactly why I started this journey.
Not for flashy lifestyles.
Not for fancy things.
For moments.
For memories.
For freedom.
I've spent more than 35 years working shifts.
I've seen how easy it is to tell yourself you'll do things later.
Later when work calms down.
Later when finances improve.
Later when life gets easier.
But life has a habit of reminding us that time is precious.
So I'm getting back into action.
Not with perfection.
With consistency.
Over the coming weeks I'll be sharing more about freedom, family, health, mindset, and creating more options for the future.
If you're a hardworking dad or grandad trying to build a better future without pretending life is perfect, I'd love to know...
What are you currently working towards?
You don’t notice it straight away.
It just becomes normal.
Being physically there,
but mentally somewhere else.
Thinking about work
money
everything you need to sort
while life is happening around you.
I lived like that for years.
And I told myself it was just part of life.
Looking back now
I can see what it was costing me.
Not in money.
In moments.
If you’ve been feeling like that lately…
message me and I’ll send you what helped me shift out of it
That feeling you get sometimes.
You don’t always say it out loud. But it’s there. Something’s off. You try to ignore it. Stay busy. Push it down.
But it keeps coming back.
If you’re serious about changing this message me and I’ll send you the full breakdown
There’s a difference.
Tired goes away. Stuck doesn’t. It sits there. Same job. Same routine. Same outcome.
I thought I was just tired.
I wasn’t.
If this feels familiar message me and I’ll send you what helped me break that loop
