🌿🐮 A little update from us! 🐮🌿

Things might be a little quieter on our socials for a while… but that’s only because we’re busy behind the scenes creating our NEW OUTDOOR LEARNING SITE! 🎉🌳🪵

There’s lots happening, lots to do and probably a fair bit of mud involved! 😂

We did take a little break from all the upgrading madness though… because obviously, Highland cows were more important! 🐮😂🤎

We headed over to Roundoak Farm for an amazing Highland Cow Experience and had such a brilliant time getting up close with these gorgeous, fluffy giants. 🐮🌿

A massive thank you to Roundoak Farm for making our visit so much fun and giving us some very special memories! ❤️

This week, the children created beautiful nature bookmarks using treasures they found while exploring our outdoor environment. 🍃📚

One class also became budding explorers by making their own maps before playing a fun game of “Hide & Find” with tokens. It was a fantastic way to encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and navigation skills—all while having lots of fun outdoors! 🗺️✨

🌿 What a fantastic time we had at Forest School! 🌿

The children had so much fun sawing their own wooden medallions, creating colourful chalk paint, building shelters, and even making a cosy home for Splash! 🪵🎨🏕️

This week, we went bug hunting in the wet weather, discovering lots of interesting creatures and learning about the natural world around us. When the sun came out, we made the most of it by creating sun pictures outdoors, enjoying some creative time in the warm weather. ☀️

It’s been wonderful to see the children embracing the changing weather and having fun while learning through nature-based activities. 🌿🐞🎨

Hope you’re all enjoying the lovely weather ☀️ Please remember to apply sunscreen and keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

Here’s a little catch-up from the past couple of weeks at Wild Sticks! We’ve been keeping very busy with lots of exciting activities, including planting, making Nordic bracelets, getting creative with arts and crafts,looking at nature and so much more.

The children have loved exploring new skills, working together, and expressing their creativity while enjoying the sunshine and outdoor activities. It has been wonderful to see everyone so engaged, confident, and happy.

We look forward to sharing more of our adventures after this short break

With the success of our last cooking session with a different group, I wanted to share this delicious apple and pear crumble. Everyone enjoyed the hands-on experience of preparing and tasting it together. We even had bananas on the fire pit (special treat). We also spent time practicing our fire-lighting skills safely and responsibly.

Last week, the children enjoyed making apple crumble over the fire. 🍎🔥 They were involved in the preparation, helping to chop and mix the ingredients, and then had the opportunity to taste the finished result. It was wonderful to see them so engaged in the whole process—and even better, it turned out delicious! 😋 A fantastic hands-on experience that supported their confidence, teamwork, and enjoyment of cooking.

Yes, the children got a little messy—but that was all part of the fun! 😊 They had a fantastic time creating simple ‘cookie’ boats and then testing them during water play. It was wonderful to see their excitement as they explored, experimented, and learned through hands-on play. A great mix of creativity, curiosity, and lots of joyful moments!

It was so lovely to see some familiar faces again! The group had a fantastic time exploring Forest School, enjoying the freedom to discover and play in the outdoor environment. One of the highlights was creating their own ‘swords’ from natural materials—followed by lots of imaginative play and a very enthusiastic ‘charge!’ It was wonderful to see their creativity, confidence, and teamwork shine through.
