What a weekend!

Last Sunday, 8 March, the JKA England Central and Northern Regional competition took place at the University of Bedford. All the students worked so hard in the lead up to the weekend, they all trained consistently and gave it everything. All Sensei Miranda has ever asked of any student is that they give it their best so they can be proud, no more than that. Harpenden JKA is incredibly proud of them for just being them.

Sensei Miranda spent the day keeping the mats on time and running as they should so under the watchful eye of Coach Sensei Susie and her usual suspects of volunteers we took a team of 34 and the results were glorious! 🥇🥈🏅🏅🏅

I cannot begin to say how proud I am of these two! A perfect example of hard work and consistency. Turn up, show up and deliver!

Father and son duo Matt and Conor Moriarty took their black belts today under the watchful eyes of Sensei Ueda, Sensei Hakizume, Sensei Gary and Sensei Dave they absolutely smashed it 👊🏻👊🏻

Attention please!!!!! We have a brand new black belt at Harpenden JKA 🥋

Emily Masters-Clark absolutely smashed it at the JKA England International course. A full weekend of training with Sensei Ogura, Sensei Sawada, Sensei Naka and Sensei Ohta. Not only did she pass she got a special mention on the level of her grading from Sensei Ohta. Emily is a great example of consistency and smart training, focus and fun.

Today was a fabulous day at the Harpenden JKA, Ataru Shotokan Karate and Stevenage Karate
Club grading with Sensei Gary Stewart 7th Dan JKA. A long day of 3 training sessions and 3 gradings and a full house of passes with some excellent performances!!!

Here are just some of the students celebrating the hard work and determination of one of our family!!! We train together, lose together and win together 🥋
