Do you have a passion for assisting young children’s learning and development?

We are currently looking for 2 early year practitioners at the URC Preschool and Nursery to work Monday to Thursday term time. The successful candidates will assist with the implementation of the new Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum as a key person under the direction of the leadership team, in order to ensure the care and welfare of our children in accordance with both our ethos and policies.

We are an Ofsted outstanding setting right in the centre of Harpenden. Here at the URC we aim to provide a happy and secure environment in which children can learn and develop through play.

Eid Mubarak! 🌙

Red group have been learning all about Ramadam and Eid over the last few weeks by colouring pictures, reading Curious George and cutting out moons & stars! They spoke about the differences and similarities between Muslim and Christian celebrations and discovered how people will be celebrating today. We wish all of our Preschool families and friends a very joyful Eid!

H A P P Y H U N T I N G ! 🐰

We’re super excited to say that our Easter trail is now live! Yesterday, we sent out trail packs and log in requests for our interactive website area ready for you to start your hunt. Today, Mrs Robinson has plenty of Easter Egg prizes ready to give out to our participants between 1 and 2pm outside the doors once you’ve completed the trail. The trail shouldn’t take longer than an hour to compete so we recommend starting between 12pm and 1pm to finish whilst Mrs Robinson is on the door.

It’s not too late to sign up! We will be accepting sign ups throughout the holidays until Friday the 9th, the trail is £3 per participating child. Mrs Robinson will be at the church every day between 1 and 2pm handing out prizes, she can’t wait to see you all! Remember to social distance where possible and wear your mask where appropriate whilst completing the trail.

The eggs are ready and waiting for you to find around town. You’ll find the 11 eggs on posters in the shop windows, scan the QR codes to find secret clue videos recorded by our teachers at !

2 DAYS TO GO UNTIL OUR EASTER TRAIL STARTS! 🌸

We hope you’ve had a great first day of the Easter holidays, remember there is still time to sign up for our Easter Town Trail! You might have started seeing our eggs hiding around town - sign up using the link in our bio to follow the clues and receive a prize!

Happy Easter!! 🌷🌸🐣

The children had a great time at Preschool this week learning about Easter and having an egg hunt in the garden. We hope everyone has a lovely, well-deserved Easter break and we look forward to seeing you for our summer term from Tuesday the 13th of April!

The trail consists of 11 posters hidden in the windows of some of our wonderful local businesses. It can be completed using our downloadable resource pack or by scanning the QR codes on your mobile whilst in town to access a private website area with clues recorded by our Preschool teachers at the URC. There is a prize for every participating child!

We are excited to announce that we have organised an Easter town trail taking place between Monday the 29th of March and Friday the 9th of April in Harpenden town centre!

Hoppy the Bunny had all of his Easter eggs ready to give the children of Harpenden however the cheeky teachers at the URC Preschool & Nursery hid all of his eggs around town. Follow the clues that our teachers have left to help Hoppy find all of his colourful eggs and save Easter! Older children can take part by also finding hidden letters along our hunt to help Hoppy spell out a secret password at the end of the trail.

Happy Chinese New Year! 🇨🇳

Some of the children enjoyed creating these Chinese dragons yesterday afternoon. We have also been drawing Chinese numbers and playing with chop sticks in our home corner.

2021 is the year of the Ox 🐂, find your child’s zodiac animal and let us know in the comments!

“I’ll stand up tall, I can be strong, I’ll chase my fears away. All is good and all is well and everything’s OK!”

The children have been learning all about their feelings and what to do when they’re upset. The worrysaurus taught them that if it’s not a happy ending, it hasn’t ended yet!

We’ve practiced lots of yoga and have been signing happy and sad. We now know when we are calm and when we are feeling very mad!
