Judged to be ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and recognised by the Government as a high-performing school, students of all abilities and backgrounds make significant progress at SJL. Over 90% of students

make the expected national curriculum level or higher in English, Maths and Science by the end of Key Stage 3. Almost all students achieve 5 or more GCSE passes or equivalent and over 80% of students achieve 5 or more GCSE passes at Grades A*-C. At Advanced level our students achieve some of the best A Level results in the county enabling entry to the most competitive university courses.

There are lots of opportunities to make friends, from school clubs to PGL - so get involved, have fun and enjoy meeting your new school friends!

Finding your way around a new school might seem like a big task, but there’s no need to worry, everyone is friendly and happy to help if you need it!

Hello Year 7, we hope you’ve had a fantastic summer!

We’re really looking forward to welcoming you to SJL next week.

To help you feel a little more at ease as you get ready to start, we’ll be sharing a couple of short videos from two of last year’s Year 7 students over the next few days. They’ll share some tips on things like making friends and finding your way around school. But first, here’s a quick message from our Headteacher, Mr Newbery.
