Thank you to Richard Boxer, Healthy Lifestyles Lead at LINKS Multi-Academy Trust, who once again came in to speak to our Year 9 students as part of their PSHCE education. Richard specialises in the field of substance misuse, and aims to empower young people by providing them with the necessary life skills to enable them to make informed choices and take responsibility for their own behaviour. It was another brilliant session; interactive, engaging and relevant. Thank you Richard.

Huge thanks to Katherine Warington School for hosting the Harpenden Inter School Debate Competition last week. It was a brilliant event with a range of motions argued including whether to bring back the woolly mammoth and the implications of neural implants. Congratulations to Effie who won both of her debates and was awarded the overall intermediate winner. Well done to all of our debaters, really impressive!

Huge thanks to RPS Alumni, Harry, who came in this week to talk to our Y12 Computer Science students about cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Harry has worked for multiple companies in roles around cybersecurity, and was able to provide a lot of insight on how the rapid advancement of AI has impacted the industry, and how he believes it will continue to impact it in the future. A great insight, thank you Harry!

From WWII codebreaking to the future of Quantum Computing! Our Year 10 Computer Science students had a brilliant day at Bletchley Park last Friday. They toured the historic site, walked the grounds where Alan Turing cracked the Enigma code, and tackled an advanced encryption workshop. A fantastic opportunity to see the history of computing come to life!

It's almost time for Yrs 7-10 Interhouse Sports days! Make a note of the relevant date/s and don't forget full kit is required - including football boots and shin pads. Water bottles essential!
