The sun has been shining finally this weekend and Spring is on its way…finally! With Spring comes the clock change on 28th March.

The clocks for forward an hour and although we lose an hour of sleep it’s not all bad news! If your little one has been waking at 5am this will become 6am. 😊

Here are my top tips to help you get ready for it.

Option 1: Do nothing. If you feel like your little one will adapt well then you can do nothing in advance and just go with the flow on the day. They will soon adjust to the time change.

Option 2: Move bedtime, naps and mealtimes 15 minutes earlier each day from Wednesday so that a 7pm bedtime gradually becomes an 6pm bedtime on Saturday. On Sunday this will then be the new 7pm. If your little one has a good routine or you think they won’t adapt too well to the time change then you can give this option a go.

Do get in touch if you have any questions and please remember to like this post if you find it helpful.

Is your little one waking shortly after going to sleep at bedtime?

They may be experiencing something known as false starts. This is when they wake shortly after going to bed, usually between 30 and 60 minutes.

False starts can be caused by a few different things: overtiredness, undertiredness and also they can be linked to how they are falling asleep. Swipe across for some more information.

If you think your little one is experiencing this then use the 😴 in the comments and I will send you a message.
