No two learners are the same â and neither is the support they need. Hereâs how I make sure every child gets what theyneed in maths:1ď¸âŁ Fill in the gaps first â a solid foundation is essential.2ď¸âŁ Match the support to the student â some love structure, others thrive with freedom.3ď¸âŁ Go deeper â when theyâre ready, we extend, stretch, and challenge their thinking.Helping children grow in maths is never one-size-fits-all. And thatâs exactly why I love it. đ

Itâs never just about the maths.
I became a tutor because I saw the moment confidence flickersâand the magic when it returns.
One tricky topic or a single bad test can knock a childâs belief in themselves.
But with the right support, it comes backâfaster than youâd think.
This is the why behind everything I do.
If your child has lost their spark with maths, this is your reminder: itâs not too late.
Letâs build it back, one small win at a time.
Well it was more than 60 secs but here are 3 ways to teach fractions of a shape problems.
The idea that youâre either âgoodâ or âbadâ at maths is a total myth â
Here are the 3ď¸âŁ simple things I do with students that make all the difference â and yes, they work every time.
1ď¸âŁBreak big ideas into small steps
Maths often feels overwhelming because itâs taught in chunks that are too big. I break each concept down into tiny, manageable parts so students can build confidence step by step.
2ď¸âŁPractise with purpose
Instead of endless worksheets, I give targeted practice that builds the exact skills a student is missing â no fluff, just what moves them forward.
3ď¸âŁTeach the âwhyâ, not just the âhowâ
Understanding why a method works helps students apply it flexibly and remember it longer. It turns maths from a memory game into a problem-solving toolkit.

Confidence grows faster than you thinkâif you know where to look.Itâs not about big achievements. Itâs the tiny moments: Trying again. Explaining their thinking. Sticking with a tricky task. Catch them in the actâand name it. âYou didnât give up!â âYou really thought that through!â Those small wins? They build belief. Try it todayâspot one and say it out loud. Let me know what happens!
