Good afternoon all - all the results, write-ups and photos from The Binder Builders Claret Jug held at Colne Valley Golf Club on 17th July and The Gibson Cup held at Croydon park Golf Club on 5th June are now up on our website (https://drinkybeer.wixsite.com/fox-golf-society).

On Friday 8th May 2026, the Fox Golf Society held its 100th event at Canons Brook Golf Club. To make it special, the day was dedicated to raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK. Each hole was sponsored by local businesses and we were grateful for their generosity.

A total of 48 golfers, members and guests participated on the day and raised £4,305.00

The society was formed in February 2010 with 20 members and has since grown to over 40 with the majority of these coming from the Matching Parish and local areas.

Since its conception the Fox Golf Society has now raised over £40,000 for local charities and organisations some of these being St Clare Hospice, The J's Hospice, Matching Church, Wallace Cancer Care, Harlow Poors Charity, Matching Pre-School, Essex Air Ambulance, Breast Cancer Now, and Grove Cottage.

The Fox Golf Society would like to thank everyone for their generosity and support over the past 16 years.

Hello everyone

Many thanks indeed to Dave Barnes for sponsoring the day and lovely to see our 2026 FGS Captain all present and correct handing out the prizes. The weather on the day could have been a lot worse than it was, but the scoring overall was generally a lot lower than normal.

Congratulations to Phil on his runaway victory, and to Damo who narrowly pipped Steve into second place on countback. Phil will be cut by 3 shots and Damo by one for their next outing.

Luckily for all those scoring 27 points or less, they will get 0.3 back on their handicap, which for some will mean a full shot next time.

It's only 6 weeks to our next and important 100th event for The Fox Golf Society.
