☀️🌈 Creating Our Own Sun Catchers!** 🌈☀️

Our little artists have been getting creative, by using stickers to decorate old CDs and transform them into beautiful sun catchers! ✨💿

The children carefully chose their favourite stickers, explored patterns and colours, and used their fine motor skills to peel, position and stick them onto the CDs. Once finished, we hung them up to catch the sunlight and create lovely reflections around our setting! 🌈☀️

A simple activity with lots of learning — supporting fine motor development, creativity, concentration, colour recognition and exploring light and reflection💛

🌑✨ Getting Ready for the Solar Eclipse! ✨🌑

In preparation for the solar eclipse on 12th August 2026, our VIP’s have been getting creative and learning all about this amazing event! 🌞🌑

The children used a solar eclipse template, paint and forks 🍴🎨 to create their very own eclipse-inspired artwork. They explored different ways of making marks, patterns and textures while developing their creativity and imagination. 🖌️✨

🎨 Expressive Arts & Design – Exploring colour, texture, pattern and different ways of using materials and tools to create artwork.

🌍 Understanding the World – Developing an understanding of the world around us and beginning to learn about the sun, moon and fascinating natural events such as solar eclipses. 🌞🌙

🤲 Physical Development – Using forks and paint encouraged hand-eye coordination, control and precision as the children experimented with making marks.

💬 Communication & Language – Learning and talking about new vocabulary such as solar eclipse, sun, moon, space, shadow* and sky.

It was a fantastic opportunity to combine science, creativity and learning through play — and we think our little artists have created some truly out-of-this-world masterpieces! 🚀🌌

🌞 Another lovely week of summer holidays at VIP Preschool! 🌈💛

What a wonderful week we’ve had, filled with creativity, exploration and lots of happy little faces! 🥰

🎨 Our children have been getting creative with our colourful summer-themed colouring activities, choosing their favourite colours and bringing their pictures to life. We’ve seen some beautiful flowers, vehicles, characters and lots of wonderful individual creations!

🖍️ We’ve also been busy developing those all-important fine motor skills, practising pencil control, hand-eye coordination and concentration as the children carefully coloured and explored different designs.

🤝 There’s been plenty of social interaction and shared play too, with the children enjoying activities together, sharing resources, making choices and proudly showing their friends and grown-ups their finished masterpieces.

👶 Even our littlest VIPs have been getting involved! We love seeing our babies exploring mark-making in their own way, building confidence and enjoying the sensory experience of holding and using the pens.
It’s been another fantastic summer week at VIP, and we can’t wait to see what adventures next week brings! ☀️🌸🖍️

✨🎓 How has it already been a week since our 2026 Graduation? 🎓✨

It only feels like yesterday we were celebrating such a special milestone with our amazing preschoolers. 💛

Watching each of our graduates walk across to receive their gifts with the biggest smiles, full of confidence and excitement for their next adventure, was a moment we'll treasure forever.

We are so incredibly proud of every single one of you and all that you've achieved during your time with us.
To our wonderful families, thank you for trusting us to be part of your child's early years journey.

It has been a privilege to watch them learn, grow, make friendships and become the incredible little people they are today.

Although we'll miss our graduates dearly, we know they are more than ready to spread their wings and shine as they begin their next chapter at school. 🌟
Congratulations once again to our Class of 2026 – you'll always be a part of the VIP Preschool family. 💚

☀️ Why don’t you try these simple and safe sensory activities with your little ones over the summer holidays? ☀️

Sensory play is a wonderful way for children to explore, learn and have fun using their senses. It can support communication, fine motor skills, problem solving and creativity — and many activities can be created using items you already have at home!

Homemade Ice Lollies

Starfish Threading and Painting

What a fantastic way to begin our summer holidays!

Today the children enjoyed making their very own refreshing ice lollies. They explored a variety flavours, carefully choosing their flavours, pouring liquids, and talking about what they thought would taste best.

We also had great fun making our own beaded starfish, for our older children and our younger children were able to decorate their own starfish too. The children enjoyed choosing their favourite colours and developed their fine motor skills.

These activities supported many areas of learning within the EYFS:

Communication and Language: The children talked about the the different colours of beads and what ones were their favourite.

Physical Development: They developed their fine motor skills by pouring the fruit juice for the lolly’s and carefully threading the beads onto the pipe cleaners.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development: The children took turns, made independent choices, and worked cooperatively with their friends.

Mathematics: They talked about full, empty, more, and less while filling their moulds. And during the threading activity they were counting how many beads they had used.

Expressive Arts and Design: They used their creativity to design colourful, unique ice lollies and starfishes.

A wonderful start to the summer holidays, full of curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning!

Pre-school had the best time at Ashlyns Farm seeing all the animals. The children were amazing asking lots of questions and being so gentle with all the farm animals. We are so proud of you all and we hope you had the best time!
