We are completely overwhelmed by your incredible generosity, beautiful gifts, lovely cards and kind words. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

It has been such an honour and privilege to nurture your wonderful children over the past few years. Watching them grow into confident, resilient little people with a positive ‘can do’ attitude has been a joy, and we know they leave Bluebell with strong foundations for the future.

Although we will miss our leavers and their amazing families so very much, we are so proud of every single one of them and can’t wait to hear about all of their adventures. We hope this isn’t goodbye and that we’ll see many of you again at Holiday Club!

Thank you for trusting us with your most precious treasures. 💚🌿
With love from all of the Bluebell Forest School team xx

Deputy Head vacancy.
This is not an administrative role—it is a hands-on leadership position.

While some paperwork is required, the Deputy Head will spend most of their time with children and staff—reading stories, joining play, supporting learning and turning interests into meaningful experiences. This role requires someone who is happy to be outdoors in all weathers, bringing a fun, bubbly personality that helps create an engaging and joyful environment for children.

The successful candidate will be a visible, energetic leader who models strong practice, inspires colleagues to stay motivated and ensures staff are effectively deployed to keep children engaged. They will encourage a culture of reflection, supporting the team to continually evaluate and improve their practice to ensure it is always in the best interests of the children.

At Bluebell, leadership happens alongside the children—in the woods, at the story circle, at the creative table and often in the mud kitchen. The Deputy Head will be supported within an established team with a high child-to-staff ratio, enabling high-quality interactions and meaningful learning experiences.

Safeguarding is central to everything we do. The Deputy Head must uphold high standards, set clear expectations and take full responsibility for embedding safeguarding in daily practice with vigilance and accountability. They must also remain professional at all times when working with parents and external agencies.

We have created an environment where children build resilience, confidence and a positive “can-do” attitude. We need a Deputy Head who reflects these qualities—genuine, dependable and calm under pressure—while also considering the needs of every child and adapting practice to meet their individual needs

With the temperatures soaring, we've been making the most of the cool shade in the woodland, where the children have enjoyed lots of refreshing water play to help them stay comfortable while having plenty of fun.
Learning certainly didn't stop! Using a variety of natural resources, the children explored early literacy by creating letters and practising their mark making with sticks, leaves, mud, pebbles and water. These hands-on experiences help to develop fine motor skills, letter recognition, creativity and a love of learning through play.
There really is no better classroom than the great outdoors! 🌳💚

🐻🧺 What a wonderful week we've had at Bluebell Forest School! 🌿💚

The children enjoyed a magical **Teddy Bears' Picnic** in the woods, sharing stories, songs and delicious treats with their favourite cuddly friends beneath the woodland canopy. There was plenty of laughter and imagination as our forest became the perfect setting for a very special picnic.

With the excitement of the football continuing, the children also designed and created their very own **England flags**, proudly showing their support and expressing their creativity through art and craft. ⚽🏴

Out in the woods, the children developed their confidence and resilience by using **real tools**, carefully hammering nails into wood. Activities such as these are fantastic for strengthening the small muscles in their hands, developing hand-eye coordination and building the fine motor skills that provide such an important foundation for early writing. We also had a go of sparking a flame using flint to make our campfire.

This week the children have been using the binomial cube for Montessori activities.

Meanwhile, Miss Lorraine has been sharing a fascinating butterfly project with the children. They have been captivated watching the incredible transformation from tiny caterpillars to beautiful butterflies, learning all about the life cycle through first-hand observation. 🦋

Every week Bluebell Forest School brings new adventures, meaningful learning and memories that will last a lifetime. 🌲✨

This week at Bluebell Forest School, we’ve been making the most of the beautiful woodland canopy, staying cool in the natural shade while continuing our learning through play. 🌳💚
Our Montessori activities took us outdoors as the children explored the Colour Tablets, carefully matching and grading colours while surrounded by nature. We also used natural treasures gathered from the forest floor to form the shapes of letters on our letter cards, strengthening early literacy skills through hands-on, sensory experiences.
There was plenty of water play to help us keep cool too, with the children collecting beautiful flower petals to create magical potions, mixing, pouring and exploring as they played imaginatively together. 🌸💦
Everyone enjoyed a delicious real fruit ice lolly – the perfect way to cool down 🍓🍊
It has been another fantastic week of learning, exploration and fun, proving once again that the best classroom really is the great outdoors. 🌿
