Thursday night the remarkable St Luke’s musical club, that have been working hard since September performed to a packed audience, Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat. They were truly amazing and their parents and families gave them a standing ovation at the end. What tremendous talent we have hiding here at St Luke’s. Thank you so much to Mrs McNaughton for giving them the opportunity to truly shine!!!

On Friday 6th March, Year 3 visited Colchester Castle Museum and had a wonderful time learning about the Romans and sharing their impressive knowledge of the topic. The children helped to build a Roman villa and thoroughly enjoyed listening to stories from 2,000 years ago while exploring the castle’s dungeons. After such a full‑on day, they all would happily go back and do it all again!

St Luke's celebrated World Book Day in style on Thursday by dressing up as our favourite book characters and enjoying a selection of book based activities. Each class was transformed into a different book focus from non fiction through Elizabeth I to poems to graphic novels travelling through time with Pablo and Splash. Our Reading Champions led an assembly about how reading can be fun and we finished the story with a whole school story time with Oi Frog. A wonderful book focussed day!

Chaplaincy team had a busy morning today in Nursery. The children have spent the last month creating their own small Christmas Cribs. They then read the story of Christmas to Nursery and then played with their small nativities together. They had a wonderful time. Lots of children could name the main characters in the story.

On Thursday 13th November, Year 3 enjoyed an amazing trip to Harlow Museum! We read the inspiring story of Mary Anning, the famous fossil hunter, and discovered how her work taught us so much about the prehistoric world.
We learned about the three main types of rocks—sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic—and became experts at recognising them by their features.
One of the highlights was holding real tools that people used in the past, all of which were found in Harlow. To finish off our fun day, we played an exciting Stone Age game!
We would love to visit again and definitely recommend our local museum to everyone!
