Some of our learners from our Blantyre and Cambuslang AlN and ICT groups went on a trip to Callandar House in Falkirk, learning about the local history and finding out about the changing industry and development of the local areas. From ancient Romans to our modern living. The museum has some fantastic exhibits and as you can also see , plenty of fun has to be had in the gardens as well! 😂. Really worth a visit and free entry, it's a good day out for all ages.

It’s Dyslexia Awareness Week. Did you know that dyslexia can impact your child in other ways apart from challenges with reading, writing and numbers? Here are some other indicators…:
• Fatigue/tiredness ~ everything requires great effort
• Difficulty learning rules about games
• Gets left out in the playground
• Has trouble telling the time/reading clocks
• Difficulty making friends or being part of a group
• Acting out in class and at home
• Slow to pick up on social cues
• Low self-esteem
• Finds it hard to manage emotions/has meltdowns

Would you like to learn about admin skills? We have free short courses running over the summer where you can learn about Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, as well as helpful skills such as telephone skills, Communication skills and more.

If you'd to come along to a face to face class, we will be starting in Terminal 1 in Blantyre on Wednesday 17th of July 2024 from 11am till 1pm. The course will be over 4 weeks, finishing on 7th of August.

If face to face is not for you, why not join us online? We will be covering the course online, starting Monday the 22nd of July from 1.30pm. (flyer says 1pm - it's a later start on week 1 due to an event, the next 3 sessions will be 1pm).
