The last few weeks we have been exploring all things autumn - talking about the changes we can see happening around us e.g. leaves on the trees changing colour; leaves falling off trees and bushes; conkers, beech nuts, pinecones and sycamore 'helicopters'; animals storing up food and thinking about hibernating etc. 🍂🦔☔️

We have enjoyed playing with the woodland animals, and getting creative with woodland and autumn themed crafts - including making leaf monsters! We have particularly enjoyed painting! 🎨 Lots of fun has also been had with windfall apples! Rolling down guttering/ramps, scooping with ladles/diggers, cutting with child-safe tools, squeezing apple juice, making apple pies, crumbles and soups! 🍏

Welcome back everyone! And welcome to all our new Scallywags friends who have joined us this September.

The start to the Autumn Term has seen us learning about ourselves and our families. We have been using the mirrors lots to look at our faces - using a range of materials to make representational observations. "Heads, shoulders, knees and toes" has been a great action rhyme to sing 🙂

We have also been exploring the world around us - inside and outdoors. And some of us have been loving getting creative (and covered!) in the mud!

We have started thinking and talking about autumn... look out for more of these explorations with photos over the next week or two 🍂

🍁🍂 Autumn Stay and Play 🍂🍁

Stay and play is back this term and remains on a Monday afternoon!

If you have a little one who doesn't yet attend Scallywags or a current Scallywags who would like to join us for an extra play then please come along!

It's a great opportunity to get to know the team and what we get up to and a gentle support for your little one as they get to know the preschool!

Just £2 per child,

Monday Afternoons 1.30pm - 3pm
September 14th
October 12th
November 9th
December 14th

Please note an adult must accompany the child to the sessions.

❤️ Annual General Meeting - All Invited ❤️

We're looking forward to welcoming you all back next week and saying hello to some new faces!

As a charity we have to hold an annual general meeting each year to demonstrate what we're doing and how we're spending our money... This is open to all parents and guardians and anyone with an interest in Scallywags and is a great opportunity to find out more about your childs pre school, meet the team find out what we've been doing and what's planned.

We will also be selecting our committee for 26/27.

Each year we lose some of our committee members as their children move up to school.
The committee is responsible for the running of Scallywags as well as the all important fundraising which without, we simply couldn't afford to stay open. This year we will also be working closely with the school to prepare for the planned merger.

If anyone is interested please do come along to the meeting and if you want more information about joing the committee please do speak to Pennie or any of the current members listed below
