We were delighted to be invited to the NECA September Social at Heart Centre in Headingly today.

It was a pleasure to see all the work that they do around gambling harms and raising awareness of the damage it can do to no just individuals suffering, but also loved ones and friends.

We also got the chance to chat and exchange numbers with other services that share our goals! We look forward to working with these organisations in the future!

Last week we delighted to be invited by Wizer CIC to Grimsby Town Hall to listen to some inspirational stories, which also included a talk by Dame Carol Black who writes policies for drug and alcohol services.

Shane Roberts, who works for the Home Office as an analyst, who also writes policies for government agencies also spoke, which was fantastic!

The event also brought people together from a wide variety of services, including: Police, Probation, Prescribing Services, and also ourselves, along with other service users from Wizer and Reflections.

What a fantastic day our clients had on Sunday at the annual Recovery Games!

It was amazing to see so many of the recovery community coming together to compete and celebrate their achievement!

Alpha House managed to come 3rd out of 40 teams, which is a fantastic achievement, WELL DONE!

Congratulations to all that took part and took home trophies, looking forward to coming 1st next year!

Alpha House Calderdale is a specialist residential rehabilitation and resettlement service in Halifax, West Yorkshire, providing a structured two-year programme for men in recovery with a history of offending and other complex needs.
We work with our partner SWAP to support residents to overcome addiction while addressing offending behaviour, mental health, homelessness, unemployment, and other social and domestic challenges. Our programme combines one-to-one support, therapeutic groups, practical life skills and 12 accredited courses, helping individuals build the confidence, resilience and skills needed for independent living, employment and sustained recovery.

On Saturday, our CEO was sat in the Getting Clean bath being interviewed about our organisation and our support for Getting Clean at Leeds City Square. Chris Sylvester, the Founder of Getting Clean was spending 60 hours in the bath to raise funds for Getting Clean, which is an organisation employing addicts to make and sell soap to support addicts in recovery.
