On Saturday, our CEO was sat in the Getting Clean bath being interviewed about our organisation and our support for Getting Clean at Leeds City Square. Chris Sylvester, the Founder of Getting Clean was spending 60 hours in the bath to raise funds for Getting Clean, which is an organisation employing addicts to make and sell soap to support addicts in recovery.

Last week, with the help of the Safe Anchor Trust Waterway, 22 of our clients were treated to a morning out on a canal boat, these kinds of activities are vital to building relationships and moral within the group, and are hugely beneficial for them moving forward. We thank everyone involved for organising this, and we look forward to doing this again in the near future!

Alpha House Calderdale is a specialist residential rehabilitation and resettlement service in Halifax, West Yorkshire, providing a structured two-year programme for men in recovery with a history of offending and other complex needs.

We work with our partner SWAP to support residents to overcome addiction while addressing offending behaviour, mental health, homelessness, unemployment, and other social and domestic challenges. Our programme combines one-to-one support, therapeutic groups, practical life skills and 12 accredited courses, helping individuals build the confidence, resilience and skills needed for independent living, employment and sustained recovery.

At Alpha House Calderdale, we believe recovery is about more than overcoming addiction—it’s about creating lasting change, restoring hope and building a better future.

Another fantastic achievement by our resident climbers who last weekend climbed Crib Goch at the Snowdonia National Park, towering over 923 metres and widely considered one of the most thrilling, exposed scrambles in the UK!

What an amazing evening, celebrating some amazing achievements.

We encourage all our residents to pursue further education, as this will benefit them greatly in the future.

Some of the courses our clients are enrolled in are: Counselling, Health and Social Care, Mental Health, and Teaching, which just goes to show that anything is possible after addiction!
