This afternoon our school choir were treated to a fabulous performance by the English Chamber Orchestra at the Victoria Theatre. They enjoyed listening to renditions of Coldplay, Vivaldi, Purcell and a bit of KPop Demon Hunters at the end. Well done everyone 👏 🎻 🎭

Yesterday, our year 5 and 6 pupils were visited by Dr John Watson. They had to work in teams to go back in time and solve the murder of Lord Worth!

They worked really well and showed their detective skills, with most groups catching the heinous killer!

We've been busy little bees behind the scenes are we're so happy to share...

🎉 We’ve been lucky enough to secure another grant! 🎉

Thanks to the generosity of the Booksellers Association during the National Year of Reading, we’ll be joining the Great Get Together at Crow Wood Park, Sowerby Bridge on Sunday 5th July, from 11am–4pm.

📚 We’ll be running THREE free storytime sessions throughout the day, and we’ll also be giving away FREE books!

We have 90 books to give away, including a wonderful selection of:
• Board books
• Picture books
• Short chapter books

A huge thank you to the Booksellers Association for making this possible. We’re incredibly excited to be part of such a fantastic community event and to help get more books into the hands of local children.

To make things as fair as possible, books will be available on a first come, first served basis, with one book per family.

We hope to see lots of you there! 📖✨

The Great Get Together

Our Year 6 girls enjoyed a trip to Headingley today to watch Australia 🇦🇺 beat Bangladesh 🇧🇩 at cricket in the Women’s T20 World Cup 🏏

Huge well done to our Y5/6 football team for becoming the first winners of the FC Halifax Town Shield competition at Brooksbank School yesterday. You showed fantastic skill, teamwork and sportsmanship to come out on top! ⚽️ 🥅 🏆

This morning our Year 6 classes enjoyed an online poetry workshop with one of their favourite authors, Matt Goodfellow. They’ve enjoyed reading Final Year and First Year in the their English lessons and are looking forward to getting started on Six Weeks ✍️ 🖊️ 📕 📖
