🎠POST WEST END: Comedy & Drama - Monologue Slam!
Lights, camera... monologue! This term, our Comedy & Drama students will take on the exciting challenge of preparing and performing a monologue in front of a live audience of their peers. Along the way, they'll explore characterisation, text analysis and performance techniques, discovering how to bring a character to life with honesty, confidence and authenticity.
The project culminates in our very own Monologue Slam, where students from each colour group will perform their chosen monologue before one winner from each group is selected. Those winning performances will then be self-taped and submitted to PQA HQ, with finalists from across the country in with the chance of being selected to work with industry professionals before taking part in a special celebratory showcase. It's a fantastic opportunity for students to challenge themselves, build confidence and develop the kind of acting skills that last a lifetime.đź’›
The Monologue Slam will take place at PQA Halifax on Saturday 28 November.

🎬 POST WEST END: Film & Television - One Shot Wonders project!
This term, our Film & Television students will take on the exciting challenge of creating a film in just one continuous shot. That means no editing, no cuts and no second chances! Students will explore how careful planning, camera movement, acting and choreography all work together to tell a compelling story from beginning to end.
This project encourages creativity, teamwork and problem-solving as students plan every detail of their production, from camera routes and character movements to timing and performance. Whether they choose comedy, drama, mystery or something completely original, they'll discover how powerful visual storytelling can be - even without a single edit. We can't wait to see the imaginative films they create!

🌟 NEXT TERM: West End performance - Across the Line!
It will come as no surprise that, from September, our focus will be firmly on our upcoming West End production of Across the Line. On Sunday 18th October, our students will take to the stage at His Majesty's Theatre in London, and we genuinely couldn't be more excited. They've already achieved so much throughout rehearsals, and we're incredibly proud of the commitment, dedication and passion they've shown every step of the way.
Throughout the Autumn term, we'll be bringing every element of the production together - polishing performances, refining choreography, holding our all-important Producer's Run and introducing costumes as the excitement builds towards show day.
We know this is going to be a truly unforgettable experience for our students, creating memories that will last a lifetime, and we can't wait for you to see everything they've been working so hard to achieve. We have a feeling this performance is going to blow you away!

Did you know? Many of the skills employers value most are developed through performing arts.
From communication and teamwork to leadership, creativity and resilience, every rehearsal helps young people build confidence and life skills that extend far beyond the stage.
At PQA, we're not just preparing children for performances. We're helping them develop the skills they'll use in school, in future careers and throughout their lives.
Because the lessons learned on stage become the foundations for confident adults.
Which of these skills do you think is the most valuable? Let us know in the comments! đź’ś
