A lovely morning working with different forms of glass, fused and put into the metal lanterns. Lots of great creativity to produce beautiful, original finished pieces.

Fantastic finished pieces from my Enamelled Jewellery workshop this morning. Each piece is layered with a top and bottom Enamelled copper piece and then fitted together to make a stylish pendant with matching earrings.

Head to The National Gallery in London to see the work by children from all over the UK. And most importantly the fused glass work by the year 4 children of Hill View Academy, Kirklees.

Take One Picture Decoration | Take One Picture 2026: Explore the exhibition | National Gallery, London We looked at the painting through viewfinders and drew the details we could see. We then found out that Venice is famous for glassmaking. With the help of a local artist Genevieve Thompson, we turned our painting details into beautiful fused-glass mosaics.

What an amazing evening. Well done to Hill View Academy in Kirklees for being selected to show their glass fused pieces in the Take One Picture exhibition at The Tate Modern in London. I worked with the Year 4 class a year ago with each child creating their own interpretation of "A Regatta on the Grand Canal" by Canaletto. They worked with different forms of glass to create their work which I then took away to fuse in my kiln.

The opening of the exhibition took place yesterday evening with teachers from exhibiting schools representing all parts if the country.

Thank you to Gillian Balmforth at Hill View Academy for asking me to work on this project.
