Yesterday we ran our Year 11 Mock Interview Day. 🤩

The aim is to give our Year 11 students a chance to take part in practice interviews with real employers. We welcomed professionals from a range of different fields and industries, including the Police, engineers, consultancy firms, construction companies and many more.😄

Having a "mock interview" is designed to help our students to be prepared for when their first real interview comes around, whether this be for college, a part time job or an apprenticeship. 🤝

A huge thank you to all all our attendees, who kindly gave their time to meet our students and made the day a huge success! We couldn't do this without your support! 🫶

Thank you to the representatives from "Pride in Place" who visited the academy last week to speak to a range of students from years 7 - 10 to explore their ideas on how the £20 million pound investment in Illingworth and Mixenden should be spent. 🤔

Our students had some wonderful ideas on how best to help our local communities and we look forward to hearing about how this exciting investment will be used to benefit the residents of Calderdale! 👏

Well done Lacey! ✨👏

Another one of our wonderful students took part in this years "Midnight Walk" for Overgate Hospice! 🫶 Lacey from Year 9 completed the walk in under 3 hours to raise vital funds for Overgate Hospice. ❤️
