🎭 Meet Martha, playing King Louis!

After taking to the stage as the wonderfully eccentric Nick Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Martha caught the theatre bug and couldn't wait to get involved again. Having thoroughly enjoyed her previous experience with the North Halifax Performing Arts Company, she was keen to return and take on a new challenge.

We're delighted to have Martha in our cast for The Three Musketeers, where she'll be stepping into the role of King Louis. Be sure to come along and see her performance this July!

🌧️🥾 Gold DofE Expedition Training Complete! 🥾🌧️

This week, 36 of our Year 12 students successfully completed their Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award training and practice expedition in Yorkshire, spending four days and three nights navigating challenging terrain and conditions.

Despite some considerably wet and cold weather for the time of year, our students demonstrated outstanding resilience, teamwork, leadership and determination throughout the expedition. These experiences are what make the Gold DofE such a valuable programme, helping young people develop the confidence, independence and leadership skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.

The expedition provided excellent preparation for their qualifying expedition in the Lake District this September, and we are incredibly proud of the maturity and commitment shown by every participant.

This was also the first opportunity to use the new tents and cooking pans purchased thanks to the generous support of the NHGS Parents' Association. Their contribution has helped ensure our students have high-quality equipment to support them on their DofE journey.

Congratulations to all 36 students on a fantastic achievement – and good luck as they continue their preparations for September!
