St Michael and All Angels Primary School

This week Year 3 have worked in the gazebo to create some Christian Art images and wordles. They had to think about images and words used to represent religious beliefs as part of our topic ‘How do people express Spirituality?’

In DT, Year 3 are evaluating snack bars, seeing how they are packaged and what information is shared about them in preparation for making and packing their own.

Year 5 have been working with Mr Ellis, a DT teacher from Lightcliffe Academy, on a packaging project. They had to explore existing packaging and design their own in preparation for making scones in the DT lessons with Mrs Piper. This packaging will allow them to bring their scones home to share!

Reception have been getting super creative in their Under the Sea topic! 🦈🐠🐳

Reception took a trip to our Nature Garden and found some tadpoles whilst pond dipping this week! Well done for ticking off one of the 20 things to do at St Michaels ✅

For three years we have planned a Booknic on our school field, and yesterday was the third year in a row the weather has let us down. ☔️ We didn’t let the weather dampen our spirits though! The children worked so hard on their books and loved reading them to their adults 🥰 thank you to everyone who came! Let’s cross our fingers for sunshine next year 🤞

This week, Year 1 completed their Phonics Screening Check. All of the children tried their best and we are so proud of them all! 🤩
