So, I have just put in the donation from the money made from the miscarriage awareness rainbow pegs to Tommy’s.

Your kind purchases amounted to £350 being sent to Tommy’s to help with their support and research into miscarriage.

Added to the £500 made through the Facebook fundraiser, we have raised £850.

If you bought any of the little rainbow pegs, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You have no idea what it means to us. You have contributed, not only to support for bereaved parents but also to scientific research to help prevent this from happening.

Hi everyone, so since I have had a few more followers recently I thought I would do a Meet the Maker post.

So, I’m Emily. I’m a full time teacher from Halifax, West Yorkshire. I’m a true northern girl and I think Yorkshire is a cracking place!

I started teaching nearly six years ago and I’m a Year 4 teacher. I love my job and it is really important to me to provide high quality education to the children in my care.

I’m never happier than when I’m making and creating. I have a background in art and a degree in Costume Design. Whilst I’m not in the trade anymore, arts and crafts are my passion.

My interests in education and art brought together this little business of Nightowl Crafts. I love that my little pegs make others smile and help children to learn.

Jon is my husband-to-be and Mr Nightowl himself. He is my best friend and and would be lost without him. We have been together for 11 and a half years and should have been married last July. We have postponed to August this year and fingers crossed, Boris will let the wedding go ahead!

Jon does all the sanding for me, most post office runs, provides me with endless cups of tea and gives me more support than I could ever hope for. We are both big kids and massive Disney fans as you can see!

Coco the cat is 8 years old and doesn’t do anything for the business but she’s cute! Most pegs that go out have probably been painted with her on my lap!

My favourite things are chocolate, my family and Brooklyn 99 and of course Disney.

I love making my pegs and I hope that you love them too. I’ve been on Etsy for a while now (link in bio) and I’m always happy to help with bespoke orders.

These little ones have just dropped on Etsy, along with a couple of other sets.

Inspired by children around the world and common/ceremonial dress, this set is great for teaching children about geography and diversity and inclusion. They also make a lovely gift.

The pegs can be used to educate children on their own heritage or cultures from around the world.

Here is a little pair painted as a retirement gift. The lady in question worked as a dental assistant for many years and the gift giver wanted a dentist to go with it.

This would also be a great little set for encouraging children to look after their teeth or for those that find it difficult to visit the dentist. 🦷 👄

It’s a princess kind of day today at Nightowl Crafts HQ. I love the bright colours on these pegs. Much more eco friendly and sustainable than plastic toys.

📦📦📦 Packaging 📦📦📦

Absolutely love my new packaging from .creative and the updated logo from .

I have had lots of lovely comments about the new design and just wanted to explain a bit more about it.

The main focus of the brand is to be as eco-friendly as possible. The peg dolls themselves are made from beech wood, and are meant as an alternative to the saturated market of plastic toys. Plastic toys are filling landfills at the moment, so pegs are a much more sustainable toy.

In order to ensure the brand is as environmentally friendly as possible, all stickers are now biodegradable. All packaging is 100% recyclable. All thank you cards are printed on recycled card. And my favourites are the business cards. These are printed onto seeded paper. This paper can be planted to produce beautiful little flowers.

I do not use any plastics or even sellotape in my packaging, so the products truly are planet friendly.

The new sage green colour echos my green initiative. I hope you like it. You can give my peg dolls as a gift and be sure they have had very little impact on the environment.

So, I have been working on these little maps to try and show where my orders have come from since I started making. If you know me, you will know how much I enjoyed colouring it in!

It’s so nice to see how widespread orders have been and to know that my little pegs are all over the country and world! But it hasn’t half tested my poor geography skills!

I think I have managed to get most areas on there. However, if you have ever ordered from me, please have a quick check of the maps and make sure your country/state/county has been coloured in. If it’s not coloured, drop me a comment or dm and I’ll colour it in.

If you haven’t ordered from me, and your area is not coloured in, then please place an order, because it’s bothering me that some areas are white still 😂but that’s the OCD in me! Anyone know anyone in Northern Ireland that wants some peg dolls??? 😂😂😂

What a lovely, colourful rainbow set for a miserable rainy day! No filter on this and I’m living for these colours!

All the miscarriage awareness pegs have now been sent out, but I do still have a couple of sets left that are ready to ship, including 1 mushroom and 4 pegs. Head to the Etsy shop if you would like to purchase.

The rainbow pegs have now raised £281 that will go straight to Tommy’s charity to be used for research into miscarriage and for help and support for parents who have experienced loss of a child.

Added to the £500 raised from our Facebook fundraiser, in total Jon and I have raised £781 for Tommy’s now.
