Beechwood Bees

We are beyond lucky - to finish off our first week back, we got invited to a grandparents house of some of our minded children, to meet the animals at the farm next door. We got up close and personal with a variety of animals; pigs, horses, alpacas, chickens, goats & donkeys. We even collected eggs that the chickens had laid, to bring home and enjoy! The children were all so brave and kind towards the animals - what lucky children they are! Farmer Jamie was just the best! 🫏 🦙 🐓 🐴 🐖

The event has been arranged by the West Yorkshire Vision Zero Partnership as part of their work to reduce all road deaths and serious injuries in the county to zero by 2040.

There will be:
⛑️Activities and crafts for children and young people
🚒A host of emergency service vehicles, equipment and staff
🚗Interactive road safety activities and educational stalls.
🚲Free bike safety checks and minor repairs from a qualified bike mechanic.
🎒Educational resources on road safety.

A trip to one of our local play gyms today for the Tuesday gang. We had so much fun and didn’t stop laughing from start to finish! Who knew a playgym could cover so many areas of learning whilst we’re there, here’s a few things it’s covered for us today: - Balancing
- Jumping
- Climbing
- Rolling
- Turn taking
- Problem solving
- Risk taking
- Colour spotting
- Learning new facts- what an astronaut does - from looking at a toy figure
- Shape identification
- Role play

We’ve started our week with some fun activities based on shapes ⭕️▪️🔺 This has been a firm favourite for all children today, some making simple marks in the sand & some copying the shapes - discussing how many sides and the names of the shapes.

Two simple trays that have provided us with lots of learning opportunities as well as lots of fun this week 🐸

After spotting butterflies on our walk at Ogden yesterday we took a little trip to Manor Heath Jungle Experience, as well as a trip to the park! We enjoyed looking at the butterflies, terrapins & fish. We’ve also been chatting about colours and sizes whilst looking at the plants and leaves. 🦋 🐢 🐟
