Family 🏑
We have been talking about our families, thinking about who lives in our house, who is important to us and why. We have explored how all families are different through our lift the flap books, and enjoyed small world play with the dolls house and figures.

Sometimes the best moments are unplanned! πŸ’›
We set out on a walk not realising we were in for such a treat! Seeing all these machines at work created so much excitement, sparking lots of amazing questions and discussion amongst the children πŸ”¨πŸ‘·πŸ»

The Ice Cream Cafe is Open! 🍦🍨
The weather may be wet, but its never to wet for ice cream! We have had a switch around in our kitchen corner, and the ice cream orders have been coming in thick and fast this morning! In and amongst all the role play we have also read our summer and seasons books, talking about the (supposed πŸ™„) lovely weather we have coming our way! β˜€οΈ

We’re Going on a Sound Walk πŸ‘‚πŸ»
We enjoyed a sound scavenger hunt in the park today, listening carefully to what we could hear, identifying what the sound could be , trying to copy the sounds and ticking them off our list. Phase 1 phonics is an essential part of learning to read and write, developing those first stages of phonological awareness… and these guys smashed it πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸŒŸ
We spotted lots of gorgeous flowers along our walk too, stopping to discuss colour, shape, size and flower names.

Dinosaur and Dino Egg Biscuits πŸ¦–πŸ’š
The children helped to measure, pour, mix, roll and cut their dinosaur biscuits, before cooking them and waiting super patiently for them to cool! They then used icing and chocolate chips to decorate them… and of course have a little taste test too!
