Skircoat Green & Haigh Lane Allotments

It’s courgette time! There’s often a glut at this time of year, and so our Saturday Produce Stall always has plenty. Come along and try varieties which are different to your standard supermarket ones. Yellow ones not only look wonderful, they are a bit firmer inside too. Our Annual Show, which was established over 80 years ago, was the most wonderful event! Lots of entries of fruit, vegetables, flowers and photography. The most fabulous trugs and baskets of veg! Beautiful flowers! After judging, the doors were opened to the public. Tea and cakes were served, prizes and cups presented. All so delightfully old-fashioned and so enjoyable!

ANNUAL SHOW Saturday 1st August, 3:30pm, All Saints Parish Hall, Skircoat Green. The Skircoat Green Allotment Society Annual Show has a long heritage and was established over 80 years ago.
Come along to see the exhibits of fruit, veg, flowers, preserves. We have a popular photography section too (see photograph of categories). Come along to see the prize winners!
We will also be serving refreshments and holding a raffle!

PRODUCE STALL every Saturday until mid Sept. Come along for fresh allotment produce, 10-12.
Your donations for our produce support our site running costs and is much appreciated.
This Saturday we will have some lovely trays of organic blackberries amongst other things!
And if course it is our Annual Show, 3:30pm onwards, open to the public, Saturday 1st August.

We love to see all our freshly-picked fruit, vegetables and flowers going out into the community and bringing health, happiness and joy.
Apparently Social By Distinct Coffee was full of people holding our gorgeous bouquets this morning….no doubt having a well-deserved coffee after queuing for our gate to open this morning!
