As part of the Trinity IGNITE Platinum Award, pupils recently visited Doe Park Water Activities Centre to take part in a range of outdoor and water-based activities, including raft building, kayaking and canoeing.
The visit formed part of their Expedition Certificate of Achievement, providing pupils with the opportunity to develop teamwork, resilience, leadership and problem-solving skills in a challenging outdoor environment.
Experiences like these are at the heart of the Trinity IGNITE Award, which encourages pupils to step beyond the classroom, embrace new challenges and build the confidence and character that will support them throughout their lives.
It was fantastic to see pupils from across the Trust working together, supporting one another and demonstrating determination as they took on each activity.

A huge congratulations to our the team from Trinity Academy Whitehill, who recently took on the formidable Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, conquering all 24 miles across Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
Not only did they complete one of Yorkshire’s most iconic endurance challenges, but they also raised a phenomenal £2,279 for Candlelighters, a charity that provides vital support to children with cancer and their families across Yorkshire.
Every mile walked and every pound raised will help Candlelighters continue their incredible work, supporting families through some of their most challenging times.
A huge thank you to everyone who donated, supported and encouraged the team along the way.👏

How amazing are these cakes?!
Pupils at Trinity Academy St Chad's created these incredible Sir David Attenborough-inspired birthday cakes to celebrate his special day - and we think they’re absolutely fantastic!
The creativity, detail and effort that went into each cake is brilliant to see. What a wonderful way to celebrate the life and work of someone who has inspired generations to care about the natural world.
Happy Birthday Sir David Attenborough!

Today we celebrate the 100th birthday of one of the world’s greatest storytellers, educators and champions for our planet - Sir David Attenborough. 🌍💚
For generations, his voice and vision have opened our eyes to the beauty, wonder and fragility of the natural world. Through decades of groundbreaking documentaries, Sir David has inspired millions to care more deeply about the future of our planet and the role we all play in protecting it.
At Trinity MAT, that same spirit of curiosity, responsibility and hope inspires us every day through our Trinity MAT Earthshot Initiative. We believe young people have the power to create meaningful change, and by empowering the next generation to think sustainably and act boldly, we continue the legacy of environmental stewardship that Sir David has championed throughout his extraordinary life.
Happy 100th Birthday, Sir David Attenborough - thank you for inspiring generations, and for continuing to inspire the changemakers of tomorrow.

As part of the Trinity IGNITE Platinum Award, some of our primary pupils took part in another volunteering session yesterday at Focus4Hope, supporting a local charity that makes a real difference to vulnerable people within our community.
The Trinity IGNITE Platinum Award is designed to give pupils opportunities beyond the classroom - encouraging them to develop confidence, character, leadership and a strong sense of social responsibility through experiences that challenge and inspire them.
Through opportunities like volunteering, pupils are able to see the positive impact they can have on others, while developing important life skills and a deeper understanding of their role within the community.
We are incredibly proud of the compassion, maturity and enthusiasm our pupils showed throughout the sessions, and grateful to Focus 4 Hope for continuing to support these valuable experiences.

A special moment that reflects the strength of our entire Trinity family.
We are immensely proud to share that we have been shortlisted twice for the Tes Schools Awards 2026 – a national celebration of excellence in education.
⭐ Trust of the Year (10 schools or more)
⭐ Headteacher of the Year – Anna Gillinder, Trinity Academy Cathedral
To be recognised on a national stage in both organisational and individual categories is a powerful reflection of what makes Trinity special.
This achievement belongs to every member of our community - our dedicated staff, inspirational leaders, talented pupils and the families who support them. Across all of our schools, this recognition reflects the relentless commitment, ambition and care that be believe defines Team Trinity.
This recognition also shines a light on Anna’s exceptional leadership. She is driven by a genuine belief in every child’s potential and works tirelessly to create opportunities for them to succeed. The care, ambition and dedication she brings to her role make this recognition incredibly well deserved.
We couldn’t be prouder.

🌍 Happy Earth Day from all of us at Trinity MAT! 💚
Today, our schools have come together to celebrate and protect the world around us through a range of inspiring activities.
From planting seeds and making eco-pledges for a greener future, to creating imaginative recycled art, our pupils have been exploring how small actions can make a big difference.
There’s been plenty of adventure too, with nature scavenger hunts encouraging curiosity and a deeper connection with the environment. Meanwhile, our KS2 pupils have been engaging in virtual Topical Talks lessons, discussing important global issues and sharing their ideas for change.
Through our Trinity MAT Earthshot, we’re encouraging our pupils to care for the planet in practical, meaningful ways that they can carry forward every day.
