Did you know November is also known to some as NaNoWriMo? Or National Novel Writing Month! During the month participants from all over the world are challenged to write a 50,000 word first draft of a novel.

What would the title of your novel be? Or what would your first sentence look like?

One of our key values at CRW Tutoring Services, is to get children to enjoy writing and creating their own stories, because in the words of De Bono, "without creativity, there would be no progress!"

We can put pressure on ourselves to achieve and often forget that things take time.

Learning is a journey and we have to take the time to celebrate the small wins rather than focus on the destination. We can often forget how far we have come and need to take the time to look back.

We love Marvel at CRW Tutoring Services and know a lot of young people do too! This is the sort of thing that can used effectively to get young people into their writing as we know it's not the easiest thing to do!

Over 775 million adults struggle with basic literacy, and two-thirds of this figure are women. Statistics like this highlight the importance of literacy and the doors that it can open.

Celebrating International Literacy Day is a great way to raise awareness of the value of literacy and encourage children to develop their literacy skills.

Why not celebrate by sharing a book or doing some creative writing based on a favourite character or setting?
