Year 5 Visit to Shibden Hall

Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic trip to Shibden Hall this week, where they explored the historical significance of the hall.

During the visit, the children took part in workshops and had a guided tour, bringing their learning to life and deepening their understanding of local history.

We were incredibly proud of the children, who were excellent ambassadors for our school. Their behaviour was exemplary, and they received praise from numerous members of the public throughout the day.

A fantastic Forest School session for Years 5 and 6! 🌳✨

Working together, the children built ladders using twigs and rope. It was brilliant to see their teamwork and perseverance pay off, with some even successfully climbing their creations 🪜👏

Thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us on Friday for our Box2bFit family session led by Dave — what a fantastic day!

Children and adults alike had a brilliant time getting active together. It was wonderful to see so many families joining in and having fun. 💪😊

🚜 EYFS trip to Swithens farm 🚜
So many wonderful experiences. We went on a tractor ride with Tractor Tony, fed baby animals milk, had lots of play time, walked around the paddock and fed animals carrots and of course, enjoyed our packed lunches. Farmer Laura was very helpful and we loved learning new things and seeing animals we hadn't seen before.
Absolutely 'farmtastic'! ☺️

🚌 What a fantastic Safer Travel Workshop we had on Wednesday!

Year 5 and 6 spent the morning learning all about bus timetables, how to read them, and how to behave on public transport so that everyone feels safe and journeys stay peaceful for all.

A huge thank you to the West Yorkshire Bus Alliance, Ahead Partnership West Yorkshire Combined Authority and West Yorkshire Police for leading such an engaging and informative session.

The children were brilliantly behaved, asked great questions, and had a great time learning skills that will help them travel safely and confidently. 🚏

This nationally recognised award, supported by the Department for Transport, celebrates our commitment to encouraging children to walk, cycle and scoot to school — helping to reduce car journeys and build healthier habits for life. 🚶‍♀️🚲💚

We're especially proud to have gone straight in at Good level!

🚆 Railway Safety Workshop 🚆

Before half term, children across took part in a fantastic Railway Safety workshop led by Catherine from Community Rail Lancashire

The children learned all about the importance of staying safe near train tracks through discussions, dressing up, and role-play activities. It was a fun and engaging way to build their understanding of how to keep themselves safe around railways!

Walk to School with Strider – A Great Start to the Day! 🚶‍♀️

Strider led us on a fantastic Walk to School journey on Thursday morning—a brilliant start to the day! We had an excellent turnout, and it was wonderful to see so many families joining us.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a success. We are also very grateful to Strider and the team at Living Streets Sophie at Team Modeshift and Calderdale Council for their support.
