Keeping Cool Thanks to a Kind Donation

EYFS Sea Safety Adventure with Lifeguard Caroline

Reception had an exciting visit this week from a lifeguard called Caroline. She taught us all about the RNLI. Caroline taught us how to stay safe at the sea and what to do if you ever get into trouble at sea! We learnt all about the different flags and their meanings.

Could your child receive free school meals from September 2026?

From September 2026, more children will be able to receive a free meal at school. This is because free school meal eligibility is expanding to include children from households receiving Universal Credit.

Urgent School Closure Notice – Thursday 25th June

Dear Parents/Carers,

Throughout today, we have been receiving a number of phone calls regarding arrangements for tomorrow.

After careful consideration, we have made the very difficult decision to close the school tomorrow. This decision has not been taken lightly; however, in light of the current health warnings, we feel that this is the safest course of action. We are contacting you now to provide advance notice so that you can make appropriate childcare arrangements.

If your child would like to partake in home learning, they can access Century (Recommended pathway), EdShed, TT Rockstars and read their school reading book which they can log in their planner.

I would also like to remind you that Friday is an INSET day. Therefore, we look forward to welcoming all children back to school on Monday, hopefully with cooler temperatures.

Warm Weather Update

Due to the continuing hot weather, we would like to reassure you that we are following all relevant guidance and are carefully assessing the school environment throughout each day to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our pupils.

We are taking a number of measures to support the children during this period of high temperatures. This includes moving classes to cooler areas of the school where possible, ensuring that pupils remain well hydrated by encouraging regular drinking, and stopping all strenuous activities such as PE.

We greatly appreciate your ongoing support in helping us manage these conditions. Please ensure that your child comes to school each day with a refillable water bottle, a hat, and that sun cream has been applied before arrival.

Today, due to the anticipated heat, children will only be allowed outside in shaded areas and on a rota system so that this can be managed safely. Additionally, all after-school clubs will be cancelled. (This does not include our Before and After School Club, however you may choose to collect at an earlier time).

We understand that many of you are working parents. Therefore, the school will remain open as usual, and we will continue to review and assess the situation throughout the day, making adjustments as necessary.
