Today in Year 3, we learnt how to draw our own bar charts in maths. We collected a dataset after surveying the class’s shoe sizes, put this into a table, then drew the bar chart, THEN WE MADE ONE IN MINECRAFT EDUCATION! We learnt how data can be accessed quickly when presented in appropriate way, and had loads of fun while doing so!

Catherine Barr is talking to children about her career as an author and her latest book Cities Gone Wild. We’ve learnt loads about wildlife in cities, and how cities are adapting and changing to support their wildlife. It’s been very fascinating!

A fantastic achievement at the Dudley Children’s Maths Championships, where our Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 teams showed brilliant mathematical thinking and teamwork across a range of challenges, with Nifty the Owl cheering them on throughout; our Year 3/4 team narrowly missed out on third place by just three points, while our Year 5/6 team secured an impressive third place and won a range of prizes, and we are incredibly proud of every pupil who took part

Year 4 had an incredible Greek dress-up day last week! They explored the Greek alphabet and even wrote their names in Greek. Everyone designed their own Greek pots, got into the rhythm of Greek dancing and traveled back in time through our immersive portal to answer questions about ancient Greece!

This is what our children at Newfield Park Stay & Play have been getting up to this week…

A range of fun, hands-on activities kept everyone busy! The children explored their creativity by printing bugs into playdough and making marks in paint using toy cars. They also loved washing cars in the water tray and exploring our sensory farmyard – supporting imaginative play and sensory development!

We’re always happy to welcome new faces, so come and join us!
