π National Thank a Teacher Day π
National Thank a Teacher Day was the theme of the day as we celebrated and took the opportunity to recognise the incredible dedication, passion and hard work of our fantastic staff.
Over the last few weeks, students have been nominating lecturers, tutors and support staff who have made a positive difference to their lives. Today members of our Senior Leadership Team presented certificates to those nominated, recognising the impact they have on our college community and demonstrating our values.
A huge thank you to all of our teaching and support staff for the commitment, care and support they show every day.
We are incredibly grateful for everything you do. π

A big moment for a little hero. Last week one of our learners supported her daughter, Maven, in donating over 20cm of her hair to The Little Princess Trust, helping create wigs for children facing hair loss. Acts of kindness like this make such a difference!

Yesterday, we were proud to host an NHS Careers Event at our Shenstone House campus for local secondary schools and current learners.
Attendees enjoyed a range of interactive workshops led by NHS professionals, exploring careers in areas including Theatres, Pharmacy, Midwifery, Radiology and Audiology. Our careers fair also brought together NHS teams, health organisations and university representatives, helping students discover the many exciting education and career pathways available within Health and Social Care.
A special thank you to everyone who supported the event, including former Halesowen College students Fiona Wyton, Director of Nursing at Solihull Hospital, and Elizabeth Allcott, who helped make the day possible.
It was wonderful to see so many students engaging with professionals, asking questions and exploring future opportunities. Thank you to all who attended and helped make the event such a success! π

We recently hosted over 40 primary school pupils, with Level 3 Sport students delivering a range of active and engaging sessions. The primary schools had a great time and our students got to experience real-world delivery; enhancing their communication, coaching and problem-solving skills. We already have plans to hold similar events next academic year. Huge thanks to Luke Philpotts for facilitating.
Schools attending were Caslon and Dudley Wood.
