🪥🦷 OWLS ORAL HEALTH 🦷🪥
As the new academic year has commenced we have welcomed lots of new children into our preschool room, so Owls have began the topic of All About Me, starting off their learning with our bodies and senses. This week we introduced toothbrushing and the children are enjoying daily sessions learning about oral health and perfecting their own teeth brushing skills. As part of this Trafford initiative, these sessions will be carried out every day here at nursery.

⚓️ 🏴‍☠️ NATIONAL PIRATE WEEK 🏴‍☠️ ⚓️

To celebrate all things pirate this week, we made some paper boats making lots of folds.
We then took a trip to the River Bollin and threw our boats over the bridge, the children enjoyed watching to see them float under the bridge and see which was going to be the fastest.

⚽️ CITY IN THE COMMUNITY ⚽️

Today the Owl children enjoyed a session from Manchester City early years programme. Coach Jess came and played lots of fun games with the children, using their hand eye coordination and enhancing their physical skills. City in the Community Foundation

🏌🏽‍♂️⛳️ GOLFING AT BROUSSA ⛳️🏌🏽‍♂️
Thank you to one of our wonderful parents who joined the Owl children today, to carry out a mini golfing session with the class. We had a wonderful time practicing our form and swing, all whilst developing our hand-eye coordination and gross motor skills!

♻️ IMAGINATION STATION ♻️
Bears responded well to the boxes and tape provocation. They used their imagination to create and build as a team, problem solving to tear off the masking tape and attach the pieces together. There was lots of critical thinking being demonstrated and working together to achieve a goal.

👞👔 DRESS TO EXPRESS 👔👞
Following the children’s current interest of exploring fashion and dressing up, Owl children enjoyed a trip to Oxfam charity shop in Hale, where they purchased clothing items of their choice to add to our home corner. We have been designing, sewing and decorating our own clothes and learning all about fashion through the decades.

🏃‍♀️ SPORTS DAY 🏃‍♀️
The children had so much fun at sports day today, they enjoyed a PANCO session with Charissa and Stretch-n-Grow session with Wendy. We thoroughly enjoyed taking part in all of the races and retrieving our medals and certificates during the celebration ceremony!

The children are delighted, and very excited to try the new pirate ship. Thank you Friends of Pirate Park for all your hard work making this possible.

I am absolutely thrilled to be able to say that Pirate Park is open again, still need to move the bin, working on that but please join us for the official opening on Sunday July 19th at 4pm for Pizza in the Park. If I achieve nothing else as a Local Councillor this will suffice. Every single one of you who signed that CIL form, be proud , you made this happen

🎾 PANCO AWARD 🎾
Charissa has recently gained a qualification as a Physical Activity and Nutrition co-ordinatior.
Charissa has been busy promoting lots of physical outdoor activities and discussing the importance of exercise with the children.
To fit in with this the children recently enjoyed a visit from two of our parents who are professional tennis players.
The children practised coordination, balance, and developed their gross motor movements whilst learning early tennis skills.
