Need space to think, write, and focus?

The Scholars and Writers Retreat at Bader College offers academics, postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and writers a dedicated setting for research, writing, and reflection.

Based at Herstmonceux Castle Estate in East Sussex, guests have access to dedicated workspaces within the castle, quiet study areas, on-site accommodation, and 600 acres of gardens, woodland, and open countryside.

It is a place to step away from day-to-day demands and focus on the work that needs your attention, whether that is a journal article, book manuscript, grant application, research project, or new piece of writing.

The estate also offers good access to major UK research collections, including The National Archives, the British Library, and the Bodleian Libraries.

Flexible stays are available throughout the year.
