✅ Community Academy Committee Member Vacancy
Could you, or someone you know, help make a difference at Hellingly?
We are currently looking for new Community Academy Committee Members to join our Local Academy Committee.
We would love to hear from people who:
• are interested in children’s education and the performance of the school
• are community spirited and would like to represent the wider community
• have some time and energy to give to the role
• enjoy working collaboratively with others
• can consider matters objectively and make informed judgements
Academy Committee Members give their time, skills and expertise on a voluntary basis, helping the school to provide children with the best possible education. The Committee plays an important role in supporting and overseeing the school’s strategic direction and the quality of education provided.
Do I need previous experience?
No previous experience or knowledge is required. Training and information will be available, along with support from the Chair, Clerk and other members of the Committee.
Community Academy Committee Members bring their own experiences, perspectives and skills to the Committee. They represent community interests and can also contribute particular areas of expertise, helping to ensure a broad and balanced range of skills and perspectives.
What is the commitment?
The term of office is four years.
The Committee meets four times a year, on Thursday afternoons at Hellingly:
• September
• November
• March
• June
Academy Committee Members also undertake strategic school visits, attend the Trust’s Annual Governance Conference in May, and may occasionally be asked to sit on additional committees.
