Yes, you read it correctly...TOTALLY FREE...no additional charges, no 'hidden extras', no 'top-ups'. Sign up now for your April start.

At Herstmonceux Forest & Pre-school (www.herstmonceuxpreschool.co.uk) we deliver great quality childcare.

As of April 2025, all of our childcare sessions will be TOTALLY FREE for families who use the government childcare funding. If you're eligible to claim 30hrs of government funding, your child can attend for 4 days a week, from 08.30am - 4pm, totally free of charge. If you're eligible for 15hrs of government funding, that's 2 days a week totally free. Here's our session times:

Herstmonceux Forest School & Pre-school is a traditional childcare setting based in the village of Herstmonceux. Due to our expanding number of children, we’re recruiting a part-time Forest School & Childcare Practitioner.

The successful applicant must have a love of nature and a passion for being outside. We need someone to work with us for at least one and a half days per week, term-time-only. If you have a full & relevant childcare qualification, that’s great, but we’re more interested in having the ‘right person’ for the job (full training will be provided). Pay will be dependent on your qualifications and experience. This role is available for an immediate start.

Located in the lovely village of Herstmonceux (and very close to the Primary school), our Pre-school & Forest School have spaces available from September 2023 for 2, 3 & 4 year olds. We have direct access to a private wonderful woodland where the children enjoy exciting and entertaining outdoor learning.

Cheaper, quality childcare for January 2020.

That's right, we are SUBSTANTIALLY cheaper than our nearest 'competitor', we offer excellent quality childcare, AND we're more flexible with our session times!!!

Recent market research shows you could save almost £25.00 per day for childcare for two children attending Herstmonceux Pre-school from 8.30am - 5pm compared to the other nearest childcare setting. Savings are even greater if you decide to collect your child at 3.30pm (something our competitors don't offer!!)
