A couple of photos from Sampford Spiney’s ‘Christmas Extravaganza’ last Wednesday (17th Dec). The weather was miserable — nonstop wind and rain — but it didn’t stop everyone packing out the church for a great evening. I really enjoyed being involved on the organ and offering a solo as part of the programme.

Note the tow rope at the ready in the vestry (and a kind farmer on standby) for anticipated moorland parking chaos…!

It was a pleasure to play for Launceston College’s Carol Service at St Mary’s last night! The students were absolutely fantastic — singing and reading with real confidence and commitment — and it was clear how impressed and supportive the congregation were.

It was lovely to see some familiar faces I hadn’t seen for well over a decade among those who came along to support the college. A really uplifting and festive evening all round!

Enjoyed playing for a few hours for the closing night of the Christmas Tree Festival at Sts Nicholas and Faith, Saltash — constant visitors, and a church full of beautifully decorated trees by different local groups. 🎄

Many thanks to everyone involved for such a warm and welcoming event which raised well over £4,000!

Beginning to feel festive after spending several hours playing at the Christmas Tree Festival in St Mary’s Parish Church, Launceston. 🎄

The church is filled with beautifully decorated trees created by local businesses, accompanied by a programme of live music throughout the week and an impressive selection of cakes. It’s a wonderful event and well worth a visit — if you’re in town, be sure to drop in!

Festival ends Saturday 13th December.

Looking forward to accompanying the Tamar Valley Male Voice Choir for my first festive concert of the season. The programme offers a varied and enjoyable selection of music, and I will also be performing an organ solo on the URC’s newly refurbished instrument!

If you are in the area, it would be great to see a few familiar faces in the audience!

Excited for tomorrow’s concert, where I’ll be performing a few organ solos as part of a special charity concert at St Petroc’s Church, South Brent! I’ll also be accompanying the The Tamar Valley Male Voice Choir who are joining the Wild Goose Choir for this special event — it should be a wonderful evening of music!

The concert is in support of an important cause: the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

If you’re local, do come along and enjoy an evening of fab choral and organ music — it would be lovely to see you there!

It was a pleasure to be back at St Mary’s Parish Church, Launceston, last Saturday afternoon to give an organ recital — always a joy to play in such a welcoming church.

Lovely to see such a well-attended and appreciative audience — thank you to everyone who came along and supported the recital!

The recital series continues on Saturday 8th November, when Dr Sean Sweeney, the church’s outgoing Director of Music, will be giving a recital not to be missed!
